Thank you so much Jannah for this video! I have been a bit perplexed that they don’t have a warm brown in their line up and I think I might just make myself a mix of Jule and. Armen. This video is so helpful!

I've been having a little success mixing 25 percent of a permanent ink to either darken, giving it some permanence. Just test a few ml for testing.

Oh, that is a really interesting idea! So mixing one of these with a normal fountain pen ink?!Do you use that mixture in fountain pens or just for sketching? Thanks for sharing 🤓
@d2row96 Жыл бұрын
@@jannahlyon FPs yes. I do it so that if it gets wet there will be something left on the page. I'm currently looking for a permanent ink to add to Robert Oster Motor Oil. Probably a gray or bad green gator. I like the light colored inks but they also need to be darkened just a little.

Hannah, THX SO MUCH for this video. Wow! Beautiful mixes! Have you ever tried to mix gouache watered down with a glass pen? Just wondering if I could get a permanent “line” with a gouache? I need to order a glass dip pen… any suggestions? I heard the nibs that twist are better. 🖋🖌🎨🙏🏻 thx again! New subscriber for sure! 👩🏻🎨

Hey there :) I have not tried watering down gouache to use with a glass dip pen, but I have used diluted watercolor with success so I am sure you can do the same with gouache. Although it would not be permanent as gouache is still water-soluable after it dries. You may be able to do it with acryla-gouache so that it is permanent, but then you would have to be careful that it did not dry on the nib as it acts much like acrylic paint, even watered down. Hope this helps, have fun experimenting and creating! 💜

Oh, as for the glass dip pen, I just got a cheapy set off Amazon and they are ok, maybe a little scratchy if you dont get the right angle. There are also some inexpensive ones that have a cap (the Jinhao 82 has a glass nib insert) which is awesome as they are prone to breaking very easily!

@@jannahlyon thanks for responding back! That’s funny about the Jinhao 82. It’s on my list. lol. Want to get something inexpensive for inks. (Then u see all of the gorgeous mega grail pen!). lol! 😂 🙏🏻👍🥁

I want to write with my fountain pen with the Lilly color, but it is dark directly from the bottle, do you know if it is possible to lighten the color tone with water or something without ruining the pen? Thank you.
@jannahlyon Жыл бұрын
I dont think that you would run the risk of ruining your pen as long as you were using distilled water (tap water could contain impurities that could lead to mold etc.) but, diluting a pigment ink would most likely mess with its waterproof properties, you may have to do some dilution tests to see how far you can go :)
@handfantasy Жыл бұрын
@@jannahlyon thank you very much. I have already tried it and it's great, I can lighten the color as I wanted in a sepia tone.
@jannahlyon Жыл бұрын
@@handfantasy yay! Thanks for sharing - what was the dilution percentage you went with out of interest?
@handfantasy Жыл бұрын
@@jannahlyon I would not know the answer, first I poured some water in a glass and added drops of ink until I got the color I wanted.

Mam I saw this video once again one small questions on what paper can I use these mixable color thanks god bless
@jannahlyon2 жыл бұрын
They are just inks so you can use them on any paper you would use ink on - I did these swatches on 25% Cotton Watercolor paper, but they work fine for me on 100% Cellulose Watercolor Paper, Rhodia, Tomoe River, Kokuyo Campus Sarasara, Kinbor Planner paper, and many others I have tried :)
