In this video, Protoculture checks out two plugins that can really help with getting your mix sounding the way it should - iZotope Neutron 4 and Sonible Smart Bundle.
Both plugins have the ability to listen to your track and use AI to make suggestions on what can be fixed. Here Nate compares the two plugins looking at the pros and cons of each before making his own personal tweaks to get the mix sounding right.
Plugins have come a long way and seem to be making the right decisions in preventing frequency clashes, and although they can't fully solve all problems, they certainly point you in the right direction, making them a great learning tool as well as cleaning up your mix.

I have both. I really like Ozone 10 and Neutron 4 and cannot live without SmartLimit as a final check of things. I struggle a bit with using SmartEQ3, as it likes to bog down my CPU - a lot.

Yeah I have the same problem especially with groups EQ on the Sonible on een Mac Pro M1 it's still CPU overload.

Gullfoss is a different beast all together... they seem similar at first glance, but I've actually chatted to the developers themselves about whats going on behind the scenes. It's not AI at all... I won't get into the details here as they have a good description on their site.

“AI” ?? 😹😹😹 Such an an abused term. This is NOT AI, period. Calling them “AI-assisted” is like calling a Casio 80s digital watch a “smartwatch” just because it had a calculator built-in 🙄

Most of this is simply automation. But a lot of that automation is built from data analyzed by AI. The presets are based on the AI's interpretation of charting songs in that given genre. You probably wouldn't want a pure AI based audio solution because of variability. But they do use AI to make certain processes much easier to work with. Great tool regardless.

Artificial Intelligence is what AI stands for. This program indeed can make decisions for you by listening to audio. It is indeed at some level of AI. AI is not just GPT, a simple script can be AI, if it's making decisions. NPCs in video games are AI.
