Ian, you are so well-spoken. This meter speaks for itself but your professional and calm explanation sold me!

This is great, thank you so much. I just put this on a very troublesome vocal channel that I felt really happy being able to fix. It's so interesting being able to hear all your compression and saturation level matched to the source.

I came for the demo of the plugin and stayed for the awesome music. I'm now seeking out everything I can by this fantastic band.

Really useful and simple idea for a plug in but exceuted flawlessly. I use it on every mix and mastering project and what a positive difference it has made to my processing decisions.

I've been wanting this plugin in for a while but the fact that it only was for mastering made me hesitant.. But now that its for mixing.. I'm getting this ASAP! Also, if you're reading this and dont have the Loudness Penalty plugin? You are missing out! Sincerely, an unpaid advocate of Meterplugs!

love this plugin...one of the best in my arsenal.

Can’t help but notice the lack of proper gain staging. Is that intentional for purposes of demonstration, or just overlooked, because I can’t imagine why your acoustic bass is running so hot, after processing.

Cool awesome powerful plugin sir Ian. Do this plugin support m1 macbook?

We'll be released a native M1 version soon 👍

Thanks for another excellent video Ian. Is it best to use the post mix instance pre or post fader? I'm assuming if you have post-fader effects that you would use it post-fader, but otherwise pre-fader?
@NiaRadio2 жыл бұрын
Interesting.. Does this stay on when bouncing your mix or is it only used for hearing the differences?

Trying to understand something here... When you say "Loudness Compensated", are you saying the plugin compensates for the perception of loudness our ears may have versus compensating for matching say, RMS levels? For example, if I raise a bell filter in an EQ 6dB in the 3-6khz range, will the plugin adjust volume based on the fact that our ears are more sensitive in that frequency range? I hope these questions are making sense.
@MeterPlugs3 жыл бұрын
That's correct. Perception AB's loudness compensation is based on ITU BS.1770, which measures "perceived loudness" and places different weight on different frequencies, similar to the way people perceive loudness.

Mr. Shepard, where can I find the song you used in this demo? I have gone through Ember Rev's Spotify discography and it is not there.

If this would be something like 50$.... Yeah, it is useful, but the asked price is too much.

@HONEYHILL can it control all instances from one window? Like this one?

@HONEYHILL thank you!!

My exact thoughts. You could measure these parameters with free plugins. It's all in one, well designed and all, but the full price is high. But I understand that this wasn't meant for hobbyist peasants like me :D
@onairmastering3 жыл бұрын
@HONEYHILL Thanks for this, after watching 20 YT videos, I decided to try it, just bought a summing mixer and ran out of outputs, so was looking at a new DAC, GM does the job.

What a great plugin. Studio One can bypass all plugins at once and this is how I level-match everything manually. I feel like this would speed my workflow up even more but its way out of my budget for now lol. Also - what a shame about the ugly GUI. Seems like developers "designed" it. I mean, kudos for keeping it simple, but those purple gradients and othernon complimentary colors, stock/system-looking fonts, text stuck so close to those thick ass lines are all a big no-no. Don't mean to bash you guys, it's still an amazing plugin, but dont underestimate the power of a well-crafted user interface.

Looks great and would definitely use, however, not worth the price in my opinion.

toooo expensive, buy the gainmatch plugin.
@Noisa Жыл бұрын
Lol the price for this meter plug-in is laughable.
@entity95883 жыл бұрын
This is ridiculously expensive. I'd pay $50 tops for it. So many similar plugins on the market for much cheaper. The extra features on this one doesn't warrant the huge price difference.
@MeterPlugs3 жыл бұрын
It may not be worth the price for everyone. But we feel like with Perception AB, we've really nailed both the mixing and mastering workflows. For professionals using this in every mix / master, they tell us that the time saved easily justifies the price.
@entity95883 жыл бұрын
@@MeterPlugs Thanks for the response! Please take a look at this and tell me why I should pay over 5 times more for Perception AB.(7 times at full price) kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJvCZIefh72Saa8 I think the only actual difference is no option to level match using LUFS with GainMatch... I know professionals will pay the difference for that one feature... Top level guys pay insane amounts of money for cables so I get it. I feel like you're limiting your sales to a smaller group of people. The market is mostly bedroom producers and small time engineers. I'm sure most of them would pick Gainmatch over Perception without a second thought. The price is simply not justified for the small difference in features.
@MeterPlugs3 жыл бұрын
@@entity9588 As you mentioned, we use LUFS which is based on perceived loudness. In our opinion, this is a requirement for accurate comparisons. The Perception AB mixing workflow is also very convenient. With a couple clicks you can instantiate Pre and Post instances of Perception on all of your channels, match them to one another, and then with a single click, bypass them all (or bypass them independently if you wish). We spent a fair bit of time testing this workflow with professional mixing engineers during development to fine tune it. And ultimately, we think it'll save people a lot of time and hope that it will be a pleasure to work with on a daily basis.
