Hey time I was wondering Whether I should get the mixmaster or Homeslice, I am 6’ 140 at 14 years old and was looking at the 7.0 mixmaster but do you think I should go for a home slice instead? My legs are long so leg room may be a large factor when picking.

I really don't think you will fit in a 7.0 and I would guess that you are still growing. Unfortunately it is really hard to find playboats for tall light people. The MM 7.5 is more playful than the HS but the HS will have more room for you as you grow but is harder to get the bow down. Hopefully that help and keep shredding.

Hi Tim, I'm 6"3 and size UK 11 shoe size, based in your friends experiences in the boat and your own, do you think I would fit? Any information would be useful as this boat is not available to Demo in the Uk.

I think it would be tight for sure. Hard to say for sure.

Tim Layzell thank you, what type of footwear are you wearing and what show size are you? This might give me some information on the space in the bow.

I prefer the mixmaster. The mixmaster is an all around fun boat. I like the lower knee position in the MM. I didn’t like the bow on the home slice. I’m similar in height and weight. I felt like putting the seat back in the home slice helped the bow. It seemed like the bow stayed under water when paddling

I had the same issue with the HS. Needs more bow rocker and I am contemplating making that modification to it.

@@timlayzell5093 Did you experiment with moving the seat back any or did you keep it in the stock position? Did you end up making the mod to the bow and how did it work out?

@@danehauser8675 Haven't moved the seat or modified the bow yet. Will do it this winter probably.

I finally got to demo the Mixmaster and Homeslice back to back and prefer the Homeslice. Both are fun but the Homeslice is so much more comfortable. The Mixmaster for my body is as uncomfortable as a Loki and I'm a wimp. I moved the HS seat back an inch and am happy with the bow. So solid for down river!

How does the Dagger super ego compare to the new full slice playboats?
@timlayzell50935 жыл бұрын
MM and homeslice are better in every way. I didn't really like the super ego that much. I think it was something about the edge that wanted to catch on everything. Get the MM if you want effortless slicing, get the HS if you want a more capable river runner.

Loki?

Heck no. I really don't like that boat. How did they make so much volume so uncomfortable.
@andrewnau4333 жыл бұрын
@@timlayzell5093 crazy, I haven't heard that before. I have owned a couple dagger boats and I'm looking for my next half slice, just sold my axiom. I have enjoyed the hull speed of every pyrahna I've paddled so I was contemplating the loki as my play/river runner as an option. Rewind seemed a little slow but very playful. Ozone felt quick but not quite as much boat as I feel I'm looking for. Someday I'll have room for all of them lol
@timlayzell50933 жыл бұрын
@@andrewnau433 I could not even fit in the large Loki and it has 60 gallons. My theory is that the volume is not concentrated around the cockpit like most full slice's. That means the knee position is rather low and uncomfortable. HS and ozone are basically the opposite. Lots of volume around the knees and thin slicy ends. So much volume that people with enough skill can loop those boats. Something that is unheard of for old school full slices. I just tried the Ozone and it is fairly demanding but I thought it was a ton of fun
