Another option would be to take the major pentatonic and raise the last note a half-step. 1-2-3-5-b7. Ex : C-D-E-G-Bb over C7

I'm decent at using mixolydian as is and I adore the so-called mixodorian scale. I like throwing I mixo feel alongside standard pentatonic licks. This is actually a super simple way to think about making pentatonic licks sound more rocky and less bluesy though. Like, it sounds very Van Halen or something idk. But it's really awesome, thank you

That’s how people should teach guitar scales instead of people watching at full speed then having to slow down the video or pausing or look at tabs witch sucks so awesome video my guy iv played for 25 years and always said if I was to teach I’d slow everything down and explain fully that way people can understand it and learn it and apply it the right way

I love that tip! Modes are something I would like to try. I’ve never heard of the Mixolydian Pentatonic scale before. I’ve only heard of the Mixolydian scale (part of the major scale) Would you show both so I can see the difference (one of course is five notes vs seven)

@Jiambo
@Jiambo Жыл бұрын
I'd love to see a KZbinr slow it down and show what they are actually doing. "This is the scale... boop boop boop...boop...boop" "Now you can start using that with your rocking blues lick" Proceeds to use it too fast to see how to actually use it in a way that sounds good. At least I'm really good at the "one twoooo...three four...fiiive...one twoooo...three four five" part now. 🤣
