Thank you for the review as I had the option to buy the 1st gen Mix Pre 10 for much cheaper than the Gen 2. This video clears it up for me on which one I should get and the 1st gen will work just fine for what I need after seeings this video!

Thank you for this. I just learned that I'm more than set with my MixPre3 v1. Maybe if I get more professional audio work lined up, I'll upgrade to a MixPreII series or 8-series SoundDevices recorder.
