Miyajima Mt. Misen Hiking in Hiroshima Japan | Momijidani and Daishoin Trail

Mt. Misen is the highest mountain in Miyajima with an elevation of 535meters. It is a nice day hike in Hiroshima.
Here’s the route that I took: Miyajima Port→Momijidani Park→Mt. Misen Observatory Deck→Komagabayashi Peak→Daishoin Course→Omotesando street

Hi, is this easy for a beginner hiker? I would say I'm in good shape but can get somewhat uncomfortable with heights, specially if theres no obstruction of the views in the trail, like staring down directly.

Is it safe to hike there alone as a woman? Do you recommend hiking to Mt Misen alone? Thank you! Im asking because I have weird days off from work and I dont have anyone to join me on those days.

Hi Pat! Hiking alone in Mt. Misen is relatively safe but I've seen the news from GetHiroshima earlier this month that there are Suzumebachi hornets just before marker #10 on the Momijidani Trail. I'm not sure if those hornets are still there now. However, you still have the option to take the Daishoin trail for this time.
