Einzelgänger I don't know if this is story about focus or not but when i watched The Mahabharata 89' adaptation by Peter Brooks there is a scene where archers on target practice have to tell their master what do they see and they all describe the target and the sorroundings but one archer Arjuna says i see the eye of the bird (target). When asked again he said i can't, i see only the eye. My only tought upon seeing this scene was; FOCUS and that one should do things only in absolute focus and comitement. I mention this to you as an idea for further topic, Mahabharata perhaps. Cheers.

I bet some people like it because it's been marketed to them and that they don't actually like it. It's pretty scary knowing how some people can be so easily manipulated. I bet you would like your coffee better if you added the right amount of sugar. I had a friend who drank black coffee not because he liked it, but because he thought it looked cooler. People either choose to focus on achieving their goals, or choose to be distracted From achieving their goals. Ultimately it’s your choice.

Of course being as impatient as I am, I had to see all 21 of them first. To say I lack focus, would be an understatement.

The benefits of focus remind me of using a magnifying glass in sunlight and how much it can burn whatever is focused on. Daylight on its own won't burn as badly without the help of the magnifying glass.

It is not true Buddhism states that one ought not to change the world. The Dhamma is clear that suffering is bad, and that suffering should be alleviated wherever possible. The Buddha himself found it more important to help others than anything else. Even while he was dying and in bed he still assisted and taught others till his last breath. The misunderstanding that Buddhism means focussing on yourself is widespread but untrue. Meditation is a practice to be a more positive contribution to the people and the world around you.
