Einzelgänger I don't know if this is story about focus or not but when i watched The Mahabharata 89' adaptation by Peter Brooks there is a scene where archers on target practice have to tell their master what do they see and they all describe the target and the sorroundings but one archer Arjuna says i see the eye of the bird (target). When asked again he said i can't, i see only the eye. My only tought upon seeing this scene was; FOCUS and that one should do things only in absolute focus and comitement. I mention this to you as an idea for further topic, Mahabharata perhaps. Cheers.

One of my favourite teachings from Miyamoto Musashi is that 'you can only fight the way you practice'. It's similar to the concept that we do not rise to the level of our expectations but fall to the level of our training. Embracing this mindset, has done wonders for the way I approach life.

Yuck! I hate black coffee lol. I'd spit it out if someone made me drink it. I need to add milk and a bit of sugar. I don't get people who like their coffee black. I mean, do they also eat biscuits with no sugar in them lol. It's like how some people out there like Dr pepper.. it taste SOOO disgusting! I bet some people like it because it's been marketed to them and that they don't actually like it. It's pretty scary knowing how some people can be so easily manipulated. I bet you would like your coffee better if you added the right amount of sugar. I had a friend who drank black coffee not because he liked it, but because he thought it looked cooler. Pllleeeeease.. how lame lol. i was like come on bro, no one thinks that but you lol

I truly get this. I like the bitterness of the coffee, same with tea, I used to drink it with sugar but these days it feels like it breaks the harmony of the tea. Same with coffee. @@davidtran6928 if you brew the coffee from real beans and it's some good stuff, French press or something, the "black" coffee can actually have a slightly sweet aromatic taste. Another thing to note is my taste buds changed around 24 years old and I began liking more bitter tastes like vinegar, beers, coffee, etc

I had spinal injury in 2016, I was a personal trainer and active man loved life to be then in a wheelchair at times really hit me. I spent 9 months in a spinal rehab and after 3 months I was able to stand and after 9 months left there on a walking frame after the hospital told me nvr walk again after 4 operations. I then went through a separation from my partner of many years and my kids she couldn't deal with my injury. I was prescribed opioids for my injury and I ran out 1 wkend when forgot lift my script so I end uo going without to which I went through cold turkey nearly 2 days which nearly destroyed me realised I'm in middle of drug addiction. Watching this 2day has been an eye opener. I need more out of life.

#13 makes a lot of sense. Good food is time consuming to prepare and cook. Good food satiates your hunger just like ordinary food would, but it makes you want to eat more. Also what human beings find palatable is rarely nutritionally rich or good for health.

It is not true Buddhism states that one ought not to change the world. The Dhamma is clear that suffering is bad, and that suffering should be alleviated wherever possible. The Buddha himself found it more important to help others than anything else. Even while he was dying and in bed he still assisted and taught others till his last breath. The misunderstanding that Buddhism means focussing on yourself is widespread but untrue. Meditation is a practice to be a more positive contribution to the people and the world around you.
