I still have a copy of The Book of Five Rings. Had it for decades. It is sort of a Zen book. Musashi lived by a very strict code.

From what I've read, apparantly Musashi went to a mountain cave to basically starve to death but his adopted sons brough him back and he died in his home.

Musashi wasnt a saintly honourable jesus character. He was a demon forged in the solitary forests and caves that he dwelt in. His works show how to become a demon and use isolayion to achieve mastery. Most of this is the self help crap that the guy talks about in the firat 2 minutes.

Again I've read many teachings and you filter in the good and filter out what doesn't work. You should have asked do you like his teachings. A person's teachings being valid is a matter of perception.
