He cut his hair because he didn’t care what people thought about him, but he did care what others thought about Hori. Remember he was willing to cut his hair when Hori’s dad asked, so he isn’t attached to the look. It wasn’t a big change for him. Hori was glaring daggers because of jealousy and that people who were mean to and about him were all of sudden flocking around him.

Nope he cut his hair because kyosuke joked about it. it does lead to Kyoko wanting him to be ruff with her and slap her. because she doesn't see her own hidden personnality in her boyfriend. if he really didn't care and hori didn't care. he wouldn't have changed. For me the author just didn't know how to embrace the "weird together" relationship and chose to normalise everything.

Dont forget to watch "Horimiya pieces" when u finish season 1, it's not a second season but a season with episodes/chapters that didnt make into the original season and we have A LOT of interactions with the other characters, Horimiya is more focused on Hori and Miyamura but the "2nd" season we have more of the other characters and it's HILARIOUS, (I know everyone's been talking about this but still) btw Sawada looks EXACTLY like Miyamura, they look like siblings or something

Historically in Japan, there've always been public bath houses where same-gender friends, family, and strangers would bathe in a big bath area because having a bath in your own house was more of a privilege. I’m glad that they made a few changes when they adapted the manga chapters for this episode. Sawada isn’t a bad character, but Hori’s handling of the situation in the manga was a bit disrespectful of Miyamura’s feelings. Especially when she was initially jealous and defensive when she thought he was the target, then she flipped when she saw how he still felt uncomfortable with Sawada clinging to Hori, showing her sadistic side. He eventually put his foot down and told her to listen to him, which somewhat triggered what you saw in episode 8. I wish he did the same thing in The Missing Pieces.

that younger kohai girl that likes Hori is not too bad for me, I don't hate her, but the one in Komi-san can't communicate is annoying, I really hate!!! her also I'm not too much of a fan of normal slice of life anime, but I have seen a decent amount, and Horimiya is BY FAR my most favorite!! reason why it's because there is no beating around the bush and those annoying slow burn nonsense, as well as none of those shy and embarrassing runaway moments that you see in everything, it's a lot more real and they actually behave like a real relatable couple

that episode is one of the episodes I don't like about horimiya, Izumi just straight up cut his hair and stop using his piercings. Even though Kyoko told him she likes his bad boy style, He simply normalised himself so that people don't judge him, and all of that just because kyosuke joked about hating guys with long hair. This leads to kyoko later on needing to find back her Badboy boyfriend she fell in love to. By asking izumi to be more ruff with her and slap her. basically because he let go of his own personnality expression and his style. it leads to a toxic relationship where one hurts his girlfriend not because he's angry, but because she doesn't find herself in him anymore.
