Perhaps, they dared to stay because they thought that if there were too few people left in the mansion, Muzan would find out that it was a trap. Still, it was heartbreaking that Kagaya, Amane, and the sisters were all hit by a large number of makibishis at the same time the bomb went off. Incidentally, the "New Year's counting song" that the sisters sang while playing with paper balloons has 12 verses, and the 12th verse says, "We will perform the twelve Kagura dances and offer them to the New Year god." It's like a Hinolami Kagura.

Im old enough to remember the amazing moment that Darth Vader told Luke he was his father. Ground breaking at the time. I never thought i would enjoy such twists and good story telling as the moment you found out the head of the Hashira killed himself and his entire family to get Muson. What an episode.
