Three flaws: 1- It doesn't specify it in its description, but of the two M.2 ports it has, one is NVMe and the other is SATA. 2- The sound card delivers terrible audio, and the front 3.5 jack doesn't work for me. 3- The small VRM fan starts to hum very annoyingly after a while, you have to buy a few 30x30x7mm Brushless fans in advance. The M.2 ports don't surprise me, they should be clearly specified. I've tried audio drivers but I haven't been able to do it. Two years with it.

Have you encountered an issue with this board as below, Whenever I open device manager I see heaps of base system devices missing etc The moment the system seems to check or scan devices it immediately reboots. It is Windows 10, fresh install I am struggling to ensure all devices are installed. It also reboots the moment I try and install drivers from AMD adrenaline, and the audio driver link you have included also.
@glimmerman1014 ай бұрын
I managed to get all drivers installed but the one problem I still encounter is if I run AMD adrenaline installer (I have an RX 6700 non XT) the moment the installer opens, I hear the hardware disconnect sound and the PC restarted itself. Now after a few windows updates, it restarts and then immediately after I see it complete post and windows loads, windows goes straight to "shutting down" and repeats the cycle. Very frustrating, I was very excited to get to use this. Taking up so much time with clean OS installs and iengineer bios flashed, still can't crack this problem.

It sounds like you may have a hardware failure. In general it's enough to install all Windows updates including the optional ones.
@glimmerman1014 ай бұрын
@@Miyconst I've installed all Windows updates and optional also. I'll flash back the original BIOS and try and return it. But I'll also make sure it isn't a compatibility issue with my GPU being too new. I did however to get all drivers installed need to use PowerShell to install them in bulk as the second a program seems to state "your device needs a restart to complete installation" the PC immediately reboots. Might even be the PSU perhaps as it keeps stating "PC has woke from low power state" or along those lines. Troubleshooting... Such a pain Thanks for taking the time to respond.

If you're going to build a Xeon gaming rig, prioritise higher clock speeds and high single thread performance over insanely high core counts bro. Its also worth mentioning that most games don't benefit from the level of multithreading peformance that the 12 core,14 core, 16 core, 18 core, 20 core and 22 core Xeons were designed for. I made the mistake of buying a 2698 v3.😂😂🤦♂️🤦♂️ What the X99 community wont tell you, is a lot of the higher core, low clock rate CPUs more or less requires you to flash your bios and undervolt your CPU so all cores are in turbo mode for optimal gaming. Undervolting and flashing your bios is not something a first time PC builder should be worrying about imo. The post is getting long so I will state my recommendation...Go for a 1650v4 or go 1660v4 if you are obsessed with more cores. Anything else and its more of a workstation than a gaming rig.

@@Miyconst In fairness, the higher core V3 CPUs that you tested were either overclocked or you flashed your motherboard to enable turbo on all cores. So its not the fairest test as you cant do the same on the V4's. It's worth mentioning that not everyone is as confident or as skilled as you are at tuning their rigs as you are mate. I'm purely talking about out of the box performance here mate. The out of the box clock speeds are too slow 🐌 on the higher core Xeons for gaming. Im not going to be disrespectful and mention other KZbin channels on here but let's just say I've seen other videos on KZbin were the 1600's V4s consistently beats the other Xeons *WITHOUT TUNING* in most games that are more optimised for GPU.
