What I want is the case/buttons of the A30, but with the compute internals of the 28xx :( In fact, I just decided not to go with either, and pre-ordered a silver 35xxSP instead :D Miyoo have blown it by delaying launch of the Miyoo Flip to push up the A30 - Anbernic have stolen now their lunch by launching a better looking clamshell device earlier IMO.

I feel like now in 2024 every handheld with a joystick should be able to play up through n64/dreamcast by default. The first handheld I bought in 2021 rg351mp could handle some n64 and Dreamcast.

Nice comparison dude! Was a close call for me between these two guys. I grew up on the Sega Megadrive (Genesis) so I loved the design of the Miyoo. But RG28XX won out in the end for me as ultra-pocketability was my biggest deciding factor so the lack of that pesky analogue stick on the RG just makes it that little big easier to travel with. Both grea devices though!

I love my RG35XX-H. Because of it's perfect size (still pocketable) I don't need a smaller device and it has a stick wich is a bonus. Banjo-Kazooie is awesome on it! 😊

I just got it today for the RG28XX. Love the stock OS, all I have to do is loud up my own games, such as MAME games, and if it cannot run via retroarch, you can always run from their standalone emulators located in the GameRoom. One thing to note is the SEARCH function is just epic! and it allows you to run it via Retroarch or Standalone emulators and in my case, retroarch could not run my MAME games? No worries, I will run it with other emulators installed with the stock OS and they run just fine!

Why is everyone making fun of these devices for their size. The pocketability is their prime feature and it's like you're ignoring that. I play a bunch on my trimui model S which is 2 inches, half the screen area of this, because it can go everywhere with me

I picked up the A30 in hopes they release OnionOS for it. I like the look of both units, but I favor the A30 with slightly larger buttons.

Spruce OS does give it a breathing new life. It picks up the Miyoo stock system and takes it to another whole level. Tenlevels is awesome dev helping the comunity. The sleep mode is so quick now and saves a lot of battery life. I was playing PSX Final DOOM on this marvelous thing and the thumbstick does help a lot. Ah it's so nice the format the buttons the feel the screen. Also it's important to quote that the battery recharges very fast, around from 40 to 45 minutes (I recharge by using my PC USB). Average gameplay time is 4 hours. I paid $ 29 for it but I bought 2 units (Grey and Black/White, I can't help my self when buying Miyoo consoles, I need at least 2 of them). I thought it was a little bigger but it's fine. It's purpose is to be small. The build quality is suberb... Miyoo devices are really well made. Great colors, great buttons (a little stiff but I think it'll soften with time), great little screen and silent shoulder buttons. Works somewhat hotter than it should but it's ok. I "Spruced" it with Adata micro sd card and the speed is blazing fast. No big problems with Spruce at all almost everything works fine (some minor things but passable). I changed the default Core for Arcade changing it from FBNEO to MAME2003 Plus. Works like a charm. The case has a nice finish but I think is a lil too thick for this device. Man the pixels are displayed so beautyfull... Currently playing GBA Castlevania Circle of the Moon and man... it looks amazing.

I love my RG28XX. I use it for everything up to 16bit games so the lack of analogue stick doesn't bother me. I also love my RG35XXSP but I'm paranoid using it now because of the reports of the holes forming in the rubber membrane with heavy use. I wish Anbernic would sell spare parts for their devices. I am using muOS on both of my consoles and absolutely love it!

Miyoo A30 Plus with sega-style d-pad, 3.5" screen, large front-firing stereo speakers instead of left stick (or dual sticks but speakers: one placed between d-pad "right" and left stick and other between "Y" button and right stick)

Great video, appreciate the overviews! When you say that the A30 had its brightness issue fixed, can you elaborate on what you mean? I heard about two issues regarding that one's screen: The overall brightness was very low, and the brightness would reset to maximum when waking up from sleep mode. I'm curious which one of those got fixed. (Or did both?)

Almost all of them will, although sometimes Atari roms aren't included so you'd add them yourself (if the handheld has a micro sd card or way to add games).
