Her main concern is the port and not all switch games being compaitble, which is a valid concern. Most streamers have reacted the same, and think it'll be prone to break.

@@inepthabit We will see about the port, I don't think it will be a problem, Nintendo tests for these things. 99.9% of games will work, no problem there. The only games that won't work are games with special controller interfaces like Labo and Ring Fit.

@@inepthabit the only switch games not compatible are labo and ring fit cause the screen is bigger so it wont fit in labo and the joy cons are bigger so wont fit in the ring fit. the connection is metal from the leaks so you would really have to do something dumb to break it

The thing that people are not understanding this is the most nintendo thing the company could have done they did it with the game boy , nintendo 2ds they always make a second improved version of their products and the switch 2 will have colored version remember people were complaining about the switch colurs when released and what did they do lauch a swich which was fully gray

I think there will be some kind of locking mechanism, so it won’t solely depend on the magnet.

The sliding took up too much space and people complained about the small trigger buttons, so that's why they changed it to this so the buttons can be bigger. Also, everyone coming up with wild scenarios about the new ports possibly breaking, did any of those scenarios happen with your Switch? I'm pretty sure if you smashed the first Switch, it would break just as much, sliding or not 😜

I’m with her on the joycons, theres nothing ppl can say to change my mind…it just looks like something that would break in 6 months. The 2 notches and half of inch of plastic isn’t enough, I don’t feel confident it won’t break the thin connection part once they become loose with use. That reason alone is why I’m waiting a year or 2 b4 I pick one up

i love that the new joy cons snap this time i think that's good to me and i think that nintendo is sticking with handheld and home console hybird is a smart move thing to do in my honest opinion because times have change and handhelds are starting to become more popular

People are such haters lol. The port is in parallel with the rims. That entire section is FLAT. The port isnt actually sticking outward, it's similar to any phone port where you constantly plug a usb into. Unless you're full on sticking something that shouldn't be in there in the first place, its not gonna break. Also, how often are ppl actually removing their joy-cons from the switch? Once removed, how often is the device not going to be in the dock? People forget Nintendo has been making hardware for years and you don't think they didn't consider these things? Obviously you can be concerned, but the amount of flack it's getting is kind of egregious.

You really overlook how clumsy people can be. I treat my switch like shit, i never have the joycons plugged in cus they have drift and i never bought new ones. Or i keep it in a bag. But it works great still. Also a phone port is a female port this is a male port sticking out even tho it’s flat to the rims. At worst I see it getting pretty dusty if the joycons aren’t plugged in all the time

its more powerful then a steam deck. it has 12gb of ram which is more then the xbox series s and it the nvidia chip is capable of better ray tracing then the base ps5 and xbox series x. the leakers already confirmed stuff like final fantasy rebirth is coming to it and that is a graphically demanding game. its capable of 4k 120fps, its a very capable system and not outdated at all

Engineers tend to overlook how items are regularly used by the consumers so actually yes they might. There’s been quite a few consoles or phones that flopped cus their designs sucked cus the 100 year old company thought something was cool but didn’t realize how bad it was in the real world.
