If you are in a smaller remote village, and you build/repaired your house. The neighbours will come and help you everyday untill you finished completely free. Unfortunately the culture is not being practiced in the larger cities nowadays.

amazing work guys! looks so cute. I love timber cladding. that timber will colour and weather in time and give a different look. I personally don't mind the orange. Obviously keeping costs down and to budget is part of this series. which as you have seen at our place we often compare cost, aesthetic and function to create a compromise. I love it so far and I'm so keen for next Wednesdays episode. that hardwood could be a nice kitchen island/table. I'll explain when we talk if you like. 💙

hey Kip, i think you can use the old floor board for making staircase or furnitures. If you are not going to use it for that, try selling at a lower price, there might be someone who needs it.. Are you using red oxide before painting the roof? I strongly recommend it because if you simply use paint, it usually goes off after 2 or 3 monsoons.

Exterior house design is cool..... I notice that both of you are confuse about the colour... It would had been better if you have chose a particular wood/timber for that. U would have got the colour you want.... Especially red timber (no specific name). Jus adding to that, burning the wood and sanding makes it looks cool. Jus try it.

I love the Mizos especially in terms of discipline and singings. But what I began to notice over the years is they're really self centered and cold shouldered. Thus, they mostly communicate only in their own dialect be it vloggings or comments etc. They should be really more outgoing.

The slope on this property is average; there a places that are a lot steeper. It did influence our decision to add retaining walls under the house though. The extra floor is just a bonus.
