Sailing Canary Islands - #2: Via El Hierro to La Gomera

After a very nice stay on La Palma I am continuing to sail single-handed via Puerto de la Estaca on El Hierro to La Gomera. I am visiting the beautiful bay at Playa de Argaga and then the island's capital, San Sebastian. In the acceleration zones between the islands ship and crew are again subjected to a tough test, which was mastered very well, so it is becoming clear, now, that there is actually nothing standing in the way of crossing the Atlantic Ocean.

When I stopped off at Marina La Gomera we were given a berth by the slip (northeastern corner) at first sight because it was at the opposite end from the showers and office it seemed a poor deal. You actually had to leave the marina through a card-operated gate and use the public road to access the showers. Then we discovered a temporary cafe just outside the gate and a garage across the road that had snacks and chilled beer for sale...result!
