Aaaand I just got to the part where you said you lost the borelli. Sorry for your loss. I breed those things, downright vicious towards each other
@BiotopeKing2 жыл бұрын

I did not know where we were going to end up, but from the moment you introduced the wood I was captivated. All of the little spaces that the fish can use really bring this to another level. You have built my dream tank 😂

HAHAHA the cloudiness actually reminded me of my first setup after being introduced to filters and a bit of aquascaping. Had a little internal filter that failed to clear up my water for about a month, had to redo it may times with different hardscape and sand etc till i just said to myself let me build a huge DIY filter with a lot of stuff in it maybe it will clear up and in a day it did clear up in a way that was so shocking, Loved the experience, almost gave up since i had seen nice crystal clear tanks by the gallery.

I absolutely love that you use small details like twigs. In nature in lakes and rivers we see fallen trees to broken branches to sticks and twigs. It’s rare to see in aquascaping. You just got me to subscribe based on that detail. Thank you

Love the big shallow! It really does the fish justice, they look so comfortable in there. Only thing I would change is opening up the wall of rocks by removing one in the middle, and pushing the sand back so that it looks more like a cave, which will give some depth and make the structure less uniform. You could also have some bigger pond plants (I think cyperus papyrus might be cool) in the back where the echinodorus melted, they are often quite strong! But I love the scape nonetheless, you are brilliant 👏👏👏

Running airline tubing from the outflow spray nozzle to the driftwood is such a clever idea. I'm totally borrowing that for my 10 gallon shallow tank so I can saturate the emersed portion of my driftwood and grow some emersed plants on it.

a heads up when planting or trying to grow a condoris plants, You want to make sure that you feed the roots they need root tabs placed near the roots when you plant them in and they need to be re fertilized at least once a month to keep them healthy. otherwise they tend to melt like yours did.

This aquascape is really stunning, I love this kind of nature vibe. Although the water is not crystal clear, it looks more natural and more like amazon style. And it's sad to hear that all the echinodorus have not survived🤣, but the emersed part still looks really nice.💪

I ALWAYS underestimate the size of hardscape to get, I always try and find the coolest looking rocks/ wood, then realize the individual rocks look good, but when it comes time to put them in the tank I realize they are too small to get a good effect. This video just reinforces that fact, that piece of wood is HUGE, but still fits perfectly for the design you're going for.

On the left hand side that top piece awarded sticking out you could wrap or wedge some spag the moss In the Little Fork there And add a couple of either bromeliads small bromeliads tangelos or a couple of miniature orchids would look nice. i'd also add maybe a fern in the back right corner area behind or to the right of The Kenadorus. And you said you had some creeping fig that's cool that's good stuff but be aware If it gets a lot of nutrients and a lot of light and a lot of water it will grow exponentially so you're gonna be forever having to trim it down and nip it in the bud. the stegorn can get quite big you could also get a birds nest fern which is kind of nice and also place that somewhere in the back near the Canadoris or just to the left of that but you wanna raise up the land a little bit so it has some chance to have air to bree on the surface you could put it in a small pot and place the small pot I would make a clay pot and use that just to hold the plant in place. He said You're making us an African Tank so I would assume you're gonna add some crepensis possibly an upside down cat although I don't know if there's enough room for it but it should work um congo Tetris might work well although they're large fish So is the catfish The Sinidontis.

Nice tank, as always 👍 I was actually excited about the emerse echinodorus, too bad that didnt work out. You could try peace Lily (lepelplant) instead, it's a house plant but it loves wet feet. I use them in the filter of my shrimp tank, works really well.
