I will never, ever understand people who complain about getting more value for the money they spend on a product. Why on Earth would you want to pay $30-$50 and have half the amount of entertainment you currently get? Ridiculous to me

Something is good until you're receiving too much of it. Wrestling, film, food, even sex, it happens with everything. In my case, I "complain" because a big part of the enjoyment is for the product to last a fair amount of time and not overexceeding the point where I, as a fan, am completely burnout. For most fans that point is around 2h30 for a PPV. With the WWE ones I enjoy 'cause I'm invested and everything seems to matter and have time to rest, on the other side I don't even remember the winners of most DoN matches bc the show is so all over the place. The AEW lenght burns out everyone, even the live crowd 'cause is almost humanly impossible to be cheering and excited for 5 consecutive hours. Specially when so many matches look the same (10-20 minutes hardcore style) and there's no time to breathe at all between them. If you check normal fan comments and reviewers the huge majority says their PPVs are too long and prefer the WWE format so maybe AEW should start listening to the majority of fans for once, instead of the minority that wants to see 10-12 long matches in a +5 hours show.

As a newer fan, I really do like the long shows as it makes me feel the $50 I spent was worth it, especially since I can pause and fix up dinner, use the bathroom etc. if I was there in person I’m not sure how I’d feel about that long of a show tho. I don’t watch WWE but since I can get the PLE’s on Peacock for like $12 a month with a plethora of other entertainment I already watch, shorter shows are fine since I don’t have as much money in on it.

Asking for a 7 match PPV card when the average Dynamite is 5-6 is wild. It's that disconnect of Wrestletalk being in the UK, but in America PPVs are $50, not the $25-$30 they are over there. If AEW gets a streaming deal like WWE and the shows get bundled with HBO Max, it'll be a different story, but how it stands $50 for a 7 match show would be absurd and turn a ton of people off.

Oli’s out of touch because he’s burned out from having to watch too much wrestling professionally. He’s literally arguing for a 5star show to be: - less long - less good (“save the angles”) - less storytelling (just pay attention and keep up, don’t expect it to dumb down Oli!) I think the problem is they have to watch so much wrestling so I empathise. I watched this over 2 nights (without spoilers!) after a long days work and gymming, 2ish hours a night and it was fantastic! Got better and better culminating to the Anarchy In the Arena.. I appreciated so many angles and spots so there weren’t as many filler matches like wwe where everything is basically pointless unless one of 2-3 stars are on screen.

It's like y'all don't even listen to him when he says things. He'll say "This was an incredible match, but there was one point where this thing didn't work for me" and people will just freak out like he's gonna cost them their TV deal. I know not everybody loves long PPVs, but the last two WWE Pay Per Views have been shorter than an episode of RAW and that's inexcusable in my book. I think my sweet spot would be 7-9 matches over 3.5-4 hours, with 0 or 1 match on a 45 minute pre-show.

Maybe it's because I don't have to review the show, but I'll take a stacked card and tons of workrate and mayhem over the card staggered by endless entrances and embarrassing ads. There's always a match or two I care less about that I can go get food or take a bathroom break during while the WWE model really tests my ability to stay invested. I do think at this point they've both gone to extremes and should, perhaps, find a middle ground.

I went to Vegas for the PPV for the third year in a row. Thought the crowd was incredible compared to last year and slightly lower than the year before. Energy was high. I like the longer shows. I feel like I get my money's worth.

Deonna vs. Rosa was fun. And it leaves room for a blowoff match as well. Ospreay vs. Roddy was great. MJF’s return was even better. Juice is back!! Toni vs. Serena was very good. Edge vs. Black was goofy fun. I know Edge winning will be controversial though. Same applies to Moxley vs. Takeshita. Mercedes vs. Willow was great. This is what Mercedes needed. And the Statlander turn was well done as well. Swerve vs. Christian was also great. Anarchy in the Arena sure lived up to the name.

I just find I come away from an aew show pretty happy and a few mins into a review it's just doom and gloom, kinda ties in to what luke said at the start. I understand the obvious answer is don't go online, but for myself and I assume others, these channels and forums are the only outlets we have to talk to other people about wrestling and it sucks that more and more the choice is have to endure a sea of petty criticism that can ruin a good experience or enjoy it in a bubble.

I do think there are a lot of stories cramped into the show but, and take this as a point, spread the stories in the showz, like one story unfolds in dynamite, another storyline in collision, etc. And make a conclusion or stories meet in special events like all in.

AEW are guilty of giving you too much for your "$50" Cut the main card to 7 matches and it flies by nicely for most people. Also it all depends on how much investment AEW built up for people heading into the PPV, the more invested you are the less likely you will feel burnout for this 4 and half hour PPV. Everything I was excited for delivered going above and beyond. The International title opener and the second half of the PPV was a joy to watch.

This. Might not be popular to say but playing music all the way through a match is kind of annoying is fun for the first like minute minute and a 1/2 or so. But playing music through the whole match I think it takes away from the want to. Hear the action that's going on between the wrestlers. But overall we are eating good because not only is WWE is freaking awesome. So is AEW I love pro wrestling ❤🔥

My thoughts on the MJF return, his first feud will be Wardlow, I know it’s UK vs MJF but it makes sense and Roddy, Taven, and Bennett don’t even need to get involved. Then after MJF beats Wardlow, they both go into the Owen on opposite sides of the bracket. Both make it to the finals, and Cole makes Wardlow give up his spot to him because MJF already beat him, for Cole’s first match back. MJF beats Cole, Wardlow turns on the Kingdom (not joining MJF, after the match), MJF vs Swerve at All In.

As an American wrestling company, I don't think AEW is going to care what time you have to go to bed if you are in the UK. I live on the East coast. Show went off at half past midnight, normally kinda late, but Monday was a Federal holiday so many people did not have to work. Also Oli likes commercials?? Interesting tid bit, the streaming service you are watching the show with has a button that will pause the show. Do you not go to theaters since they don't have commercials half way through the film?

Thought the show great and I didnt have a problem with how long the show ran ( hello, everyone on this channel is a total Mark). My theory was that although the crowd was packed, it was a bunch of people going to an event in Vegas, and maybe 20-30% real wrestling fans. I feel like certain spots deserved more love, but a casual crowd didnt know when to cheer... Just my opinion. 8.75/10 for me.

I believe that if they was able to trim the fat on the PPV, then it would have been quick and straight to the point on what they needed to do. So I light of what up guys did on review podcast of double or nothing, I figured how it could have been booked. I wish I could see what guys see in aew. I used to love it a few years ago, but after coming back to it recently, I just struggle to get into it. It's just self indulgent spot monkeys jumping around and cutting themselves without any rhyme or reason. Mjf and toni storm are stars though

I think it says a lot that we are 12 hours removed from the PPV and no one is talking about any of the matches, not the world title, not the TBS championship, not the Statlander turn or Anarchy... every single post and thumbnail I have seen for the PPV is only talking about MJF's return promo. How is he NOT in the world title picture at the moment?

though this year's double or nothing was not as good as dynasty nowhere near. it had some good moments though the worst match on the card by a country mile was willow vs Mercedes for the TBS title I don't know if it's because she's rusty or maybe she's just not very good anymore but wee gad Mercedes looked terrible in that match. on a more positive note anarchy in the arena was oodles of fun, poor Darby Allin getting hung upside down like a fish for way too long, but I suppose that's what you get when you try to burn a man alive.
