I absolutely loved this film. Movies like this that come out of nowhere and are their own thing tend to be more entertaining than franchise films. Films like The Martian and Fury are perfect examples.

The order of the films are: Kingsman: The Secret Secret Service (2014), his sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017), his prequel The King's Man (2021) with one post credit scene and his spin off Argylle (2024) with one post credit scene.

I love to hear your thoughts on the themes of the films you watch! What makes this movie as well as others like it is that you can understand and maybe even agree to an extent with the villain, even if the way he's going about his aims is awful. If you enjoyed Taran Egerton, the actor who played Eggsy, I think you'd love him in Rocketman, the film about Elton John's life. He really sings (with Sir Elton's blessing) and he does an amazing job!

kingsman started out as 2012 comic series "the secret service", that opens with actor mark hamill (as himself) being questioned about star wars while held by kidnappers. his rescue by british secret service does not go as planned. the movie changed hamill to "professor arnold". (in the comic dr arnold was the main villain, changed to valentine for the movie.)

18:09 In my opinion, it was Eggsy who would've passed the test and the girl who failed. In my opinion, if I'm training agents like this, I want ones whose character I can trust who will make good decisions in the field when faced with new facts. Someone who'll do something despicable just because they were ordered to is unacceptable. In fact, I would have been happy if Eggsy had pulled the trigger on Michael Caine here. If he was really wanting Eggsy to kill the dog, he shouldn't be in his position of power; and if he wasn't, the gun wouldn't have been loaded. That's win-win.

There IS a point to the dog test. Imagine you were faced with the choice to kill a fellow agent who had turned to the opposition. An agent has to put personal feelings aside to do what is required.

The problem with every single reactor to this movie is that they don't shut up and don't pay attention, so none of them have any idea why the church fight happens. Not until way after the fact. Pay attention, people. You don't have to talk every damn second.
