Interesting video Mark. I’ve never seen the point of a boiling tap as they’re quite expensive to run. Working under a kitchen sink is a pain as there’s always a lot of going on underneath. It would be great if you did a video on what goes on when you edit your stuff to get the final product 👍🙂

I have fitted one of those Franke taps before. Heater tank was just like that and fitted in bottom of cupboard. Never occurred to me to put it under the plinth. Did have an issue the safety valve constantly dripping water though. Had to fit a pressure reducing valve which solved that problem
@MJTiffPlumbing2 ай бұрын
Yep they had exactly the same issue👍🏼

Hi mate I usually file the end of the service valve to flatten the end to connect the tape
@MJTiffPlumbing2 ай бұрын
A few people do that….👍🏼👍🏼….. I’ve never needed to, just don’t over tighten them is my way
@mickobyobrien26502 ай бұрын
Great video mark, good info on that under unit heater,no come across one of those yet,I normally file the thread flat on a service valve to remove the sharp edge then fit Flexi hose onto it,but as you've shown the washer can split if you overtighten the connection.👍

Hi Mark, I have never seen that kind of boiling tap before, so it’s another school day for me also, I am always happy to learn. I’m not a fan of any of the boiling taps, they appear to have too many bits to go wrong, maybe I’m just too old fashioned now and set in my ways? Thank you for another educational film, seeing you editing a film would be interesting for me to see the process etc. Take care, regards Chris. 👍👍👍

Excellent video, yes I’ve done it loads of times emptied the trap down the sink lol that’s where the foldable bucket comes into its own. Also that tap wrench kit makes life a heck of a lot easier. Just wondering the press kit you have does that mean you don’t do any soldering now Mark or had it just cut down the amount of soldering you do and also do you think it’s a good job the press kit. Cheers brill video always learning from your channel. Keep up the good work.

Why use 2 shut off valves on the cold feed.? I’m not a plumber but in my experience the smaller valves leak after time especially as you said the water is hard. There are fittings that go from 15mm to tap tail
