Almost every person who reacts to this film forgets that not everybody is a mutant or has superhuman abilities. This was a clever bit of writing that used real world physics, to set up a surprise for the audience...

Everything Marvel related that was released through Twentieth Century Fox is now part of Marvel Studios since Disney bought Twentieth Century Fox. On a side note, the first Star Wars movie, known as “A New Hope”, wasn’t part of the Lucasfilm sale by George Lucas. Fox had ownership of that one and only Star Wars movie since 1977. Before the Disney/Fox buyout, Fox had worked out a deal with Disney so that the movie could be part of Disney+, along with everything else that was Star Wars related. Since the buyout of Fox, Disney now owns the first Star Wars movie.

So Deadpool's comic origins are similar to this. Wade had cancer, and underwent an experimental procedure to cure himself where they injected in him Wolverine's blood and a catalyst drug. The procedure worked, giving him hyper-regeneration, but his cancer cells also received it, and promptly multiplied through his body, leaving him looking like.... well, that. The cancer flooding his brain also drove him so insane he became super sane, realizing he's a comic book character, thus the 4th wall breaking. In the comics he also has two voices in his head, represented by a white narrators box, and a yellow narrators box, which he talks to frequently. Edit: "Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret" isn't a movie. It's a book intended for young women to help them understand their first lady time. And 127 Hours was based off a true story. I'm not sure if it'd be spoilers to say exactly what he was referencing there or not, because of that XD

Something else to consider. He didn't just gain immortality, he also gained the knowledge that he is a character in a fictional world. It's why when you see Wade before he changes, he never addresses the camera, yet Deadpool breaks the 4th wall all the time. Deadpool's strongest ability is knowing he is in a story and that he is the main character. AKA, he has plot armor.
