I was born in Baltimore County, Towson and lived in Baltimore City for most of my life. Lots of movies and TV get made here and this movie was not what I expected (even as an dance fan). This was from the creator of "Save The Last Dance" (2001) and part of the new wave of Dance Dramas. Also the directorial film debut of choreographer Anne Fletcher. For then couple Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan, this was 1 of 2 films they each made for 2006 and only film together. Without a doubt, a star-making role for Southern boy Tatum. A lot of these characters relate because i knew people like them living in B-More. Tatum's character, Tyler Gage of Hampden represents every kid who knew that dreams don't come easy. Gage's friends and experiences spoke to me and although I never took anything for granted, I know everyone has their journey to fulfill. The dance sequences are dope AF; party scenes, rehearsals scenes, The B-More Bounce line dance (loved that so much) and main performance at the MSA. The soundtrack was on repeat before and after I saw the film and had some real good music, especially the song "Get Up" by Ciara feat. Chamillionaire. 5 sequels later, plus an original series (3 seasons) and becoming the no.1 Dance Drama franchise was unbelievable. Hope you can react to them all.

@@BreCarter-o3e and I understand that but once one in the franchise fails it’s unlikely the rest will succeed because KZbin will no longer push it into the algorithm. Fast and Furious is an excellent example of this. They all did amazing and the impressions were through the roof. The first rocky movie had good impressions and did do well so I decided to do the second rocky movie just because and lo and behold, it didn’t do as well and didn’t get impressions. That’s just how KZbin works unfortunately. I’ve considered finishing some of these franchises separately on Patreon but that requires taking more time out of my day which I already don’t have much anyway. ): I wanna give you guys what you want but it’s clear what my subscribers DONT want.
