MJX Bugs 16 Pro Is it better than F11 4K?

Very nice, very thorough review. I am on my second B16P - I crashed #1 inside a pavillion (GPS off) on day one. I accidently hit the home button - it shot straight up and hit the roof. When it finally came down it came down hard and broke both rear arms. Oopsie. Cost of learning to fly. This is my first drone. I have #2 with nearly 2hrs flight time almost all with video. So about 3 days of flying outside. Mine will not connect to the M RC PRO app but it will connect to the X-Drone app on my iPhone. That app has a Beginner mode. I haven't messed with it, it may just switch the drone to "Tripod", slow mode. There are 3 features that you did not touch on. Follow, Orbit, and map. What I don't like about map is that it doesn't provide a satellite view. I am very rural and the map has almost no data, I could use the extra visuals to see fence line boundaries, etc. I will try the follow mode later on an electric bike but not any time soon. I will try orbit - after figuring out the settings. Thanks for your review - it did give me a few things to try, including antenas down rather than up to improve RC reception.

From inside the house - I can get a satellite view - but not at a usable resolution - will only zoom into about half the state - not even down to the county, let alone street level. But can't upload any flight path pre-flight - must make adjustments and flight paths while in the hoover mode (now that is dumb). The camera does not provide any EXIF data (camera make, model, focal point), no GPS data, I don't know yet if the flight log can be exported into a GPS mapping/tracking software. MJX did very well this time, they got their 3 axis gimbal, eis combo right the first time, the zoom work well and do come out in the recording. I am really impressed with this one, at the price point , that make it affordable. F11 has nothing on this one. i say, its in a class of its on. you did a nice review on this , as always. I fly my B16 , everyday since it arrived. FLIGHT TIME IS LONG.

@@RCEscape I get at eBay 10 for around 100 Buck's venom. 1 out of 5 so far went bad after 30 cycle's.. had high resistance on one cell.. so figured. If has high resistance. I try to use as a cruiser bat.. seems they don't like fast discharge.. will fail faster if used for freestyle.. one good punch could kill. But if used as cruiser bat. Last way longer. Usually find at cheap Price around December.. Haven't looked I get 10 for season.. by end of summer have 5 Left.. hopefully.. lol have a squatter in a rental:( so have to wait. It's unbelievable what utility companies do! If he leaves with outstanding Bill. I pay.. Because I own property. They signed contract with them not me? Both electric and water. And can't evict.. so they pay nothing. I pay past bills. And!!! They can't shut off till September. So year no rent. And year of bill's... Or close . Talking to attorney.. but then again renter has the full support of us government. And government makes rules! It's like I'm in a dream?? Oh I can kick out but guess when.. yep September. Shit they will move by then no water or electric..and who has to come with past bills money to turn on? mE!! Plus thousand to fix.. making serious.. called homeless landlord.. lol to old for this shit... Lol

1st upgrade for any bugs gps camera fpv drone. Open up that controller, get to the beeper, add a drop of super glue to down inside the beeper module. She's still going to beep, remember the more drops you add the quieter that beeping gets so test it while you are doing it. Make it how you want it, I sealed mine off all together because I can see what's happening, don't need any beeping at all myself 😆

A fresh fall of snow has forced me to test my recently acquired Bugs 16 Pro indoors. I tested the camera, specifically, and found that the video is faulty. It pixelates (if that is the correct term) and also leaves a double image when I view it. Bummer. Now comes the process of sending it back for another. I wonder how many hoops I will have to jump through to make this happen.😖

just buy a soldering kit from walmart for like $15, and order a 5 or 7 inch fpv drone build kit. Long range high powered drones rely on fpv so you can actually see where you are flying. A decent build for 4-5 miles at 50mph+ will run you about $350-$400, and about 1.5 hours to assemble and tune

My first impression of this drone is that it has poor FPV and transmitter range. The FPV video is frustratingly laggy and I wonder why. Colour saturation is on the light side but one thing is clear, the 4K video quality is smooth and not grainy compared with the SJRC F11 4K Pro. The latter has deep colour saturation and the hue is fantastic albeit of grainy quality. One thing is clear, this drone can really fly and a speed demon as well! Probably as with all electronic gadgets, I would let it burned in for a few more days and see if there is any improvement. Thanks for the video, Pete.

What is the answer in your opinion ? - the Bug or F11 ? Personally I think it is to close to call, I am a MJX fan and have the full fleet however no one would ship multi battery option to the UK so I thought I would try the F11 which would ship ( odd!) So far I'm very pleased.

I'm a F11 fan boy but this 16 pro is good. My only complaint is the focus of the camera. Mine is a bit unfocused in the middle section. It could be that it is just my unit so take a look at other reviews to see if this focus thing is an issue. Thanks for watching :) 🍺

@@RCEscape Possibly a quality issue with your bug, I have the B20 which has the same sensor and lens but obviously not on a gimbal, which produces superb picture, quality razor sharp. I had a quality issue with the Fimi A3 letting moisture in at first ( soon fixed ). Sometimes these things happen unfortunately. One thing for sure is the value for money, build and features of these moderately priced quads have come on in leaps and bounds lately. ( I speak as someone who has a Mavic in the fleet and fly for pleasure not to be snobbish and look down on anything that does not carry the DJI logo )

I was in between buying the DJ I mini Se and HA 720e Just came across this video. bought a hs720e took it up for a flight outdoors for a minute. Came in the house and took it for a spin but not just about every lamp in the living room down. it went crazy I just ordered landing gear and blade guards for mines. Paid $244. Think I should keep it, or go with the 16 pro, if I can find one?

Flies great, good quadcopter. Gimbal seems to be good too, as is the EIS. Video connection leaves a lot to be desired and the overal image quality is disappointing; the middle right center of the frame especially seems to lack detail, and the overal image should/could be sharper which is very visible in your high wind test side by side comparison: your head cam picks up waaay more detail. In other reviews I noticed this overal lack of detail too, so it's not just this particular copy.

I like the Bugs but my camera is a bit blurry in the center. If it is just my unit and not wide spread, the Bugs would have been the drone to beat but because of that I’m still a F11 fanboy :)

Rec'd mine at the end of March. Tested it downstairs yesterday for the first time. Found out that the video doesn't work correctly. It (for lack of a proper term) pixelates and seems to jump around and leaves a type of double image. Contacted Banggood for support, and was told to send in the proof of video. Okay. Took it outside today and went through the whole routine again, just in case it started working properly. Video was the same. While outside, I made an attempt to bind the quad to my wifi. No go. No matter what I did, it would not work Just kept the 'Not Connected' in upper left corner of the tablet. Very frustrating. I'm starting to think that I am naive to expect things to work the way they should.

Hi, I'm new to the drone and just recently, I have bought a drone called MJX Bugs 16 Pro B16 GPS 4K EIS 3- I have managed to use the basic controller. However, still, I couldn't connect to the mobile apps as once I uploaded the MRC Pro app on the top of the left hand of the mobile, it said Not Connected; I tried many times but still didn't; know how to connect it, while KZbin video shows the green sport (High Speed)label and another question I'm planning to use this MJX Bugs 16 Pro B16 in remote places in Himalayan Country in Nepal, may I know how to connect to the Wifi in the mobile apps where there may not be the internet access. Thanks! It is the wifi connection so it is dependent on how strong it is and your phone makes a difference. But having said that, I got 3000meter connection with the ruko f11 gim2 and the sjrc f7 pro using the same device so it really has to do with the drones wifi network.

A sharpening filter in post production would probably help a lot, I don't think there's any in-camera sharpening going on

MJX cameras are often somewhat out of focus. I think this is intentional, as it helps the image stabilizer to do its job without noticeable jello effect. I have MJX Bugs 20 EIS, and its camera is kind of blurry too. If I somehow find a way to adjust the lens, I'll make a video on that. Should be useful both for fellow pilots and vendors. Sometimes a simple enhancement in one of assembly stages can lead to a whole product being significantly better.
