I've had my Bugs 5W for about two weeks. You have the first video that shows the detailed start-up procedure. Not even the manual that came with it said I should hold down the lock button and then start the remote. I have done everything up to initializing the gyros. Still need a short clip for how to start the rotors. Thanks

The PRESET point (6:23) that it's talking about my friend is the distance you send it away from you,means if you send it 10 meters away from you than it will orbit at the same distance all the way. If you set a 20 meters distance from you, then it will orbit 20 meters radius from you. I got a Bugs 3 Pro, works the same way, I think they have the same APP.

Many thanks for your response. I do seem to have a full connection no problems with the fpv. No problems with any other functions from my phone. It just seems that the app isn't locating where the phone is on the map. I have switched on all the permissions but still no luck. Thanks Paul

GI, another nice video, as you already know most of the Bugs you have to press the red button to stop the motors but you got this one to shut down by itself. The camera picture quality is pretty nice, I may have to purchase this one.

Yeah I was surprised the motors didn't stop because they did in all of my initial flights. The quad wasn't level though and the motors just kept going. Not a big deal at all I don't think. I really like this one...I just wish flight time was longer.

Your really put that new BUGS through it paces on this one. And it did very well, especially battling that wind. I was a little disappointed with the batter life, I wonder if it would improve much on a calm day. The camera quality looked good, but you had in the small box must of the time. In your opinion, is it better than the BUGS 2W's camera? Great review GI, I'm looking forward to part three. I want to see more of those waypoints.

One of my viewers asked me to do a comparison video of the 2W and the 5W, so I'll try to get that done. My impression is that the cameras are about the same honestly, but until I get them side-by-side I'm not 100% certain. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same camera on both. I'll look into that more though. There should be plenty of full screen video in the review as well...just trying to keep video length down.

That would be a great video, I'm sure you would have a lot of interest. From the video you posted I think I like the color a bit better on the B5W. But I will wait for the side by side before making a final judgement.

Very nice review. Wow MJX, All it needs is EIS or a real gimbal. I own Bugs 2C and 3. MJX has come a long way.

Yeah I'm a big fan of MJX. They have been a roll releasing some really nice quads. Don't be surprised if you start seeing quads at this price point with EIS next year or so.

I've learned to never say never, so I'm sure somebody will figure out a way to put a better gimbal on it.

It will probably take a month or so, but somebody will make a long landing gear kit for this bird so that it will have enough ground clearence to add a gimbal. This bird wont have any problems lifting the extra weight! POW!!!

Very cool quad. Lots of features. Another great review. Your “hat cam”, is that the GIT2? It is very very clear, and crisp, external microphone?

Yep, the Gitup Git2 is my 'NoPro'. Half the cost with about the same quality. Sometimes I use an external mic, but the mic on the Git2 is really good so I usually just go with that. That is the native mic on the camera you hear in the video.

Hi, many thanks for your great review on the mjx 5w. I have purchased one on the basis of your videos and I must say I really like it. Perhaps you might be able to help me with a little problem. The go app doesn't seem to be able to find the location of the phone. It pin points the 5w but not the controller. All my location services are switched on, but still nothing. The 5W uses 5G, so your phone needs to be compatible with 5G. That might be your problem.

Please don't forget to compare this to the Contixo F-18 in your next video. I think the app to control the MJX Bugs 5W is very similar to the Hubsan app.

I was caught short ordering before I knew my phone wouldn't work. After a deep weekend long internet dive, I discovered the Kyocera DuroForce. Only costs $80 new and $50 refurbished on Ebay. It is one of those indestructable type phones for rough conditions. But it has 802.11 ac. Perfect for this situation. It will live on the controller and never even have the phone activated. Hardly any phones under say $400 have 5ghz.

I doubt it. The windy conditions are probably more likely and I have actually seen other reviewers only get about 12-minutes. Just remember that it is going to vary in different flight conditions, temperatures, etc. MJX advertised 15-minutes, but you almost never get the full advertised flight time in my experience with drones. If they don't show you the countdown with a clock like I always do, I would take those claims with a grain of salt.

You are 100% correct and that is true about all of MJX quads, but that's what happens when you're trying to move fast and get a lot done. I've had to learn to punch perfectionism in the face though. Can't reshoot an entire video for one or two minor mistakes. Thanks for pointing that out though and thanks for watching.
