Fifth and final video from our Skye trip. After amazing breakfast at the Applecross House Walled Garden, we follow the coastal road and head for the stunning Torridon Valley. More photo stops at Loch Maree Viewpoint, Rogie Falls and the Commando Memmorial, Spean Bridge. Due to relentless midgie attacks we opted for a glamping hut for our final night of the trip at the 'By the Way' campsite in Tyndrum...

My 650 is now gone and there has been no new contents for a while because of the bloody pandemic and work commitments but will hopefully be back making videos soon. Great series and thanks for the tip about the walled garden at Applecross. To keep the midges at bay you want some stuff called Smidge. It's around £7.50 for a little spray can, but it works really well.

Thank you!!! Hopefully it will be open when you're up there. On our last trip it wasn't unfortunately. Great wee place 👍 Yes, we both had the smidge spray, the midges were horrendous on that trip, I had never experienced anything like it...

@@matjucable I saw another video from the same area last year and there were some Council guys working on the roads, I knew the midges were bad when I spotted that they were all wearing head nets. I was supposed to be on Mull in June 2020, but it was postponed, looks like I had a lucky escape.

Thank you, I really appreciate your comments. I'm learning to film/edit as I go, a lot of it is still 'trial and error' thing and I've still lot to pick up! Hey matt was also in Applecross at the campsite and was also at the memorial. The memorial made me very concerned and thoughtful. This is a really nice video and it makes me want to go back to Scotland as soon as possible. And I'm really looking forward to driving with you again. Best regards, Oli

Hi, just watched all the episodes, nice videos and great scenery. I must plan a trip up to Scotland as soon as I can. It looks an amazing place. Just 1 question, when is midge season? I've heard it can be bad and I tend to atracked the little buggers! Cheers

Hi buddy, thank you! Glad you enjoyed it, more coming soon. Lots of lovely roads and places to visit up north! You will not be disappointed but take a decent set of waterproofs and midgie repellent with you! Midgie wise, some areas are worse than others but a rule of thumb is the warmer months are worst for it. July/August are the worst. I travelled up north early/mid May and end of September and it was the best time to avoid them... Hope this helps. As I said, it's just a 'rule of thumb', all depends on the weather too...

Absolutely! Rain is a 100% So are the midges but in our defence, it was extremely bad, even for Scotland standards! I have never seen it this bad!!! Still, we haven't actually run away completely, just relocated 🤣🤣🤣
