Hi Liam, Great review, Glad you are getting on well with it so far. Couple of tips , The Mankung crossbows have a specific cocking rope. The little wings on the hooks stop the cocking rope catching on the safety catch and engaging it before the string has passed the string claw. Try your other rope but most will not work correctly. To get the easiest cocking attach the rope to the crossbow then shorten the rope as much as possible so the T handles end up touching the main string. You want it so there is just enough rope for the hooks to reach and no more. The anti fry fire blocks the safety catch so until a bolt is loaded the safety is locked into "safe" and can not be disengaged. Looking forward to you next vid when you have it all zeroed and set up :)

Thanks for the info Nick, as said in the video I think a lot of it is just getting the hang of how it works then it should be a lot easier to use. I managed to zero the scope pretty quickly after the video, only took about 6 or so shots, could use some fine tuning but it's much better now in terms of accuracy.

Weaponsandstuff93 Like you say its all just practice. I find cocking super easy if you adjust the rope to optimum length. Having built up quite a few crossbows I can also assemble this bow from box to built in around 5 minutes :)

+2dogsnacat That's a point actually I really need to get around to shortening the cocking rope for quite a few of my bows.

Outstanding review, Liam; as usual, at one and the same time intelligent and easy to understand. I know how difficult it is to make the transition from recurve to compound, both with bows and crossbows, so you did very well there. Ive had a similar early birthday present from B&B, and will be doing my own review as soon as soon as I get the chance, but there will (doubtless) be more swearing in it than yours. Very impressive mate.
@Weaponsandstuff9310 жыл бұрын
Thanks, yeah I'm getting used to it more now, and it has pros and cons compared to a recurve. Will look forward to seeing your video.

First off compound crossbows have those "things" cam wheels on the side because it help shoot the bolt faster thats why your average recurve crossbow say 175lb but only fire at 225 to 270 fps. My crossbow i have is a chase sun ll 185lb fires a bolt at 370fps, thats super fast. I go hunting with this all the time. And ive hunted with a recurve crossbow before they are louder and slower then a compound crossbow. I no compound crossbows cost alot more but you get your moneys worth. The fastest crossbow is a tactical crossbow i don't no the draw weight but it fires a bolt at 410fps that's every deer's worst nightmare. See if they will sent you one of them. You will love her.

Nice, i like that barrett style stock, very nice. looks like a great crossbow, love the red on it too The one they sent me goes through both my boss's, i certainly need a new one or make a better one. Good old Bladesandbows, what a decent website!
@Weaponsandstuff9310 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's a nice wide stock and it's got a lot of rubber for insulation unlike a lot of the older Man Kung crossbows so the recoil gets dampened a lot making it more comfortable to shoot, it has a very nice trigger pull as well. The hand guard adjustment is really nice as well, so you can set it up for you're arm length. And yeah I've always gotten much better service from B&Bs than with Merlin archery, when they sold me a falsely advertised crossbow kit then didn't even respond to my emails.

Interesting review, although perhaps it's hard to give a completely honest and fair review when you've been given the expensive item under review for nothing, that's a pretty nice present! Anyway, would be good if you did a comparison with your jandao Chase wind, dimensions, weight, balance etc, so those of us with recurve crossbows can directly see the differences. Keep up the helpful reviews

just ordered one off Amazon should get it next week, thanks for the vid it helped in my decision.
Does they still have creepy trigger or they perfected manufacturing process? They kick a lot for sure. I didnt like recoil on one ManKung i tried from my friend. But they are for sure nice price performance ratio.
@Weaponsandstuff938 жыл бұрын
+Zox Wolf Never noticed any bad triggers on my crossbows except maybe the older firecat crossbow, but it does feel smoother than my other crossbows.

ive never had a crossbow . im getting this
@Weaponsandstuff937 жыл бұрын
If you've never had a crossbow before I wouldn't recommend starting with a heavy compound bow. Get a light weight recurve and see if you enjoy it first.

Weaponsandstuff93 compound bows look soo badass. ive never driven a lambo or a zafira but i know what id rather.
@Weaponsandstuff937 жыл бұрын
+deletedauto developer They're not good beginner bows though, they require more maintenance and safety training than a recurve. That's not to say they're not great fun to shoot but it's more like saying trying to drive a sports car when you haven't driven a car before.

Weaponsandstuff93 your right dude. ive been watchin too mu TWD
@Weaponsandstuff937 жыл бұрын
+deletedauto developer funnily enough in the walking dead the crossbow has a stupidly low draw weight, although in theory even a 40lb recurve could penetrate a skull.

Too bad only Chinese crossbows are sort of affordable.
@Weaponsandstuff9310 жыл бұрын
Which is why Asian crossbows are getting bigger market shares every year, as they're made for the majority of people interested in crossbows rather than the very high end stuff.

But carrying a crossbow in China is illegal , lol

Michael Mai Actually, the companies probably come from Hong kong or Taiwan, which are both very different from China as far as the law is concerned.

Nice looking bow ,im sure you know better and how safe the situation was but i was a little worried on your 1st shot that you had the target in front of a feather edge (lap) fence, had you missed that the target alltogether that bolt would have went through that fence like it was not even there! God knows whats on the other side at that time?
@Weaponsandstuff9310 жыл бұрын
Nothing as I always check before shooting, also my first shot was at closer range to the target to prevent a miss.

Similar price to the titan. How do they compare? Have you shot the titan? Cheers
@Weaponsandstuff9310 жыл бұрын
Never used a titan but stats wise it's a slightly more powerful version of this, but only by 20fps.

im hoping to get one of these next month, though i have one question: is it possible to mount a bipod underneath the bow if you put that hand-piece all the way back?
@2dogsnacat10 жыл бұрын
You could ether mount a bipod to the front sling stud (something along the Harris style bipods) Better to mount one one the weaver accessory rail though IMO. If you can find an Atlas copy bipod they are great and mount directly to a weaver rail . I got one from Greenbase in China but they seam to be out of stock at the mo. Seen some on ebay but they cost nearly double at around £50. Still a great pod though even for 50 quid.
