Lesson learned: Bring your war bow to the gunfight. You probably won’t win, but your opponent will never live down having an arrow protruding from his Kevlar.

@@dashrendar5320 There is a tradition in some military units of designing an “Trophy” and awarding it to the officer who “Most Deftly Snatches Defeat from the Jaws of Victory.” My personal favorite is the Beach Boot, from the 1/319 Airborne Field Artillery Regiment (82d Airborne), since I was there when it was first incepted.

Can confirm! 😜 I have a compound bow that's rigged up to fire paintballs instead of arrows. The thing honestly kind of sucks, and I've NEVER hit a single person while using it. But any time I stand up and draw, the other teams duck and hide or run away 🤣🤣🤣

Super cool video! One thing I would like to respectfully point out is modern helmets have really thick pads inside of them to help cushion your head against back face deformation and energy transfer when they get hit by high speed projectiles. Those pads are usually about 3/4 to 1 inch thick on all sides and the top of the helmet. The reason I bring this up is even though that second helmet test did punch into the helmet, the distance created between your head and the helmet by those pads would render that as more of a scratch than a serious head wound. What the helmet definitely won't save you from is the serious neck injury that arrow just gave you as your spine absorbes ALL of that arrow's energy since it got stuck in the kevlar. Not an AlphaBro here, just someone who loves both sharing random facts and watching your awesome videos! Keep up the great work!

I have a recurve that I’ve been practicing with for a year or so now to get used to a heavier draw weight. at the time it was the cheapest takedown recurve I could find that was at least 70 pounds on Amazon and since I got it for cheap I was worried that it would draw less than that. today I took it to a shop where they wouldn’t draw it back past 28 inches and at that length it was 69 pounds(nice). Still don’t know how much I am pulling when I draw back to my normal 31” but it’s easy enough to get to that point I’m probably going to get that fiberglass longbow you reviewed at 80-90lbs. Glad you enjoyed the humor my friend!! The thumb ring helps often to assist with heavier draw weights so it alleviates some of the stress on the thumb from the string
@aleshain5479
@aleshain5479 2 ай бұрын
The thumb ring is used to protect your thumb, at higher draw weights the string tends to bite hard into your thumb, that was my experience at least (sorry for the bad english), oh and depending on the thumb ring it can help you get a cleaner release.

Great testing and also I like the funny acting! As someone who mainly practices Asistic archery, there is nothing wrong with shooting these bows with 3 finger draw, just use what method you're most comfortable with. For a while, I actually shot my Asiatic recurve bow with 3 finger draw due to a thumb injury. It felt weird at first, but after some practice I can be just as accurate with 3 finger draw

Im back again for my occasional check in lol. I don't comment much because im never signed in to KZbin (to avoid the plague of adds.) I still watch every video tho. Your production quality has gotten so good man. Id say its just as good as any of the other channels out there now. And i love the cast of characters you're developing lol. RIP to the bow btw, a sad day for sure, she was a beauty. Also, i shoot the short eastern style bows like your Tiron. Mostly with thumb draw techniques.(i can only draw around 100# tho). Its totally fine the way youre shooting it. Obviously theres certain advantages to using a proper thumb draw technique, but if you make it work with your style thats fine. Anyway, great video man I've said it before and I'll say it again, the channel just keeps getting better, keep up the great work brother.

Loved seeing how these arrows performed. Level 4 is rated to stop one round of 30-06 Armor Piercing ammo, 162 grains. Its about the hardest military cartridge that can be stopped. The step ups, like 338 Lapua, ignore body armor. Even if you could stop them, the energy still transferred into the target is deadly.
