Thanks for the video, with the test I got 55PSI, and 75PSI, bought a similar kit. my Fuel Main pump was bad. But, I have changed the fuel pump of the tank too. Nice work at your side. apprecieted

Many thanks for putting the efforts. I find your videos invaluable as I'm going through a cabby restoration process. Learning Bosch CIS along the way. 1. When you bridged the Distributor & Pressure Regulator and closed the valve you effectively measured the default system pressure of 5.5 bar. This is what goes to injectors at all times. 2. When you open the valve you actually measure the pressure applied by the control regulator to the plunger into the metering head which partly closes the outflow gates to the injectors reducing the amount of fuel flowing through therefore leaning the mixture. It initially starts with 0.5 bar when the engine is cold and increases to 3.5 bar as the engine warms up. My understanding is that this is purely pressure to control the fuel flow and hence the mixture through the plunger however though pressure to injectors still remains 5.5 bar.... Is that correct?

Thanks for sharing this and with great commentary! I plan to do this with my Gti over the winter. What ended up being your issue? I had found my cold start wires that route behind the intake by the exhaust were burned and was able to splice in a new section.

basically the same thing. One of the grounds from the idle stabilization valves that goes to my cold start injector was broken.

Can you test just cranking car. We get fuel but it only starts and shuts down. Probaly just getting a squirt on the cold start injector

I'm having a hot start failure. Cold start fine. I let it warm up until it reaches normal temp. Let it sit for 10 minutes. Won't restart. Will this test tell me if check valve on fuel pump is bad? What part of your video would show me losing pressure with a bad check valve?

Depends on the temp but generally I like to have my run till the idle drops to the normal range

It is testing the side that goes to the warm up regulator

I did this test and my pressure on my fuel regulator went to 70, my question is if I rebuild it like you did in your other video would it fix the regulator?
