Meh. Shao kahn is overrated. He doesn’t fear anyone. He really doesn’t. He initially did fear onaga only bcuz he planned to betray him so wouldn’t you fear someone stronger then you if you plan to betray them perhaps your betrayal won’t work. He successfully poisoned andnkillled onaga but in Armageddon a weakened kahn after his mk3 defeat did defeat onaga after his deception defeat. Both were at their weakest points. Kahn believes he can beat anyone he can’t beat the deadly alliance (at least not his clone) can’t defeat onaga bfr his death can’t beat shinnok can’t beat kronica can’t beat elder gods liu kang or Shang tsung with the crown. Shang tsung with the crown is all powerful and a magical being like shinnok and it’s basically a perfect example shinnok would trash shao kahn since tsung did with magic. Brute force doesn’t matter that much. Onaga was strong physically but like shinnok it’s his magic which made him so powerful it’s the reason why he’s immune to projectiles it’s his magic not his physical build alone. Even onaga understands that magical beings and abilities out best and surpass physical brute strength which onaga himself possesses. Onaga feared and worshipped shinnok in the Armageddon story he didn’t fear the brute that Shao kahn is. Kahn may not have feared magical beings bcuz he has never faced shinnok kronica elder gods or anyone who’s magical abilities would easily kill him until the elder gods and Shang tsung and even then his ego remains and doesn’t matter as he dies anyway. I’m glad Shang tsung of all ppl was easily able to put shao kahn in his place. Shinnok was stronger than everyone except for maybe etc onaga. Kronica is the only other that surpassed shinnok. And finally tsung with the crown but that’s not belittling shinnok as kronica herself was set at the height of mk power up until Shang tsung attained the crown. Onaga at this point is irrelevant as far as power alone is concerned w.o the kamidogu... do I believe they can bring him back and have amps that make him the strongest again? Yes easily but as he is now with no kamidogu at base he was assumed defeated by a base kahn inn Armageddon. The onaga with kamidogu vs the onaga of deception w.o kamidogu after his defeat are worlds different in power. It’s like kahn after mk3 was nothing to his peak in mk3. Shinnok without his full power,his amulet is nothing to himself with it. I prefer onaga to kahn but shinnok over both. Onaga and kahn need amps to come close to “elder god” level thst shinnok is naturally. Shinnok himself had to get nerfed since the start to be defeated
