They missed a big chance for something funny: Shao Kahn: Are you from another timeline? Shao Kahn: One where I am Outworld's protector, not Tyrant. Shao Kahn: Then I will take your Outworld when I kill you. Kinda like in Bionicle, with Light Makuta from another timeline.
