I used similar methods with the exception I used Coyote stock, grip, and RIS panels. The idea was to just paint the metal surfaces and use Coyote furniture on areas that would see increased wear.

Airsoft or not, this paint job is pretty effin sick. Semi-pro tip: if you're going to do the weared/used look on your own make sure you're taking a fair amount, if not all, of the paint off of the brass deflector. This is going to wear very quickly under real use.

check out the montana 94-series. low-pressure cans and not as much gloss (not so much sanding after). I think it will get the effect youre looking for with less work.

When I did mine, I didn't and it still works fine. If however you want to strip it to work on the internals, I would really recommend covering up the pins that knock/push through to take the lower receiver apart :)

shane boylan you're welcome. And put a clear coat after so the paint doesn't chip, also make sure you don't have any fans aimed at the gun and if you need a stencil for scales or a design just use netted bag that apples come in.

shane boylan it's not my gun but he took a tweed potato sack, cut it, wrapped it around and tied it off with twine. And with the sr25 make sure you cover all of the cracks and opening with tape.

No. The M110 is a .308 caliber rifle. The MK12 is a 5.56. The M110 weighs almost twice as much when fully loaded/equipped as well.

It also works on a plastic gun and definitely upgrades the rifle. Sure the result looks better on a metal rifle, but before i do a paintjob i always test the colours and technique on a crappy cheap plastic gun.

Well we don't have great locations just play, most of the time we just play in the woods. In fact we often play with a Gopro mountet on the gun or helmet. But with the wide angle lens, its hard to capture the interesting scenes which happen in the distance. So in my opinion its boring to watch gameplay videos without a scopecam. Therefore I would like to focus more on other ideas. But there will be some gamepaly videos for sure.
