Never let the keyboard warriors get you down Lucas! I've got 6 years as an infantryman and another 2 as private security. I've done a lot of shooting with both (private side definitely is getting me more range time) and I can't shoot anywhere close to you. Fact is if you lost half your skill under real danger/pressure you'd still be better than many soldiers/officers I've worked with. Stay humble and keep training. I hope you never have to use your skill in a real life environment. But if shooting did go down, I'd want you on my side!

Andres Neder fair question. As an example I will offer this: There is one video where Zero talks about some rifle grip that he invented and how great his invention is, where as T Rex (even though they do sell tactical gear) on more than one occasion simply says "spend your money on ammo and time at the range to increase your proficiency" which you must admit is the best advice! Oh and also always mentioning things like trigger discipline, safety discipline, basic fundamentals to shooting and this is just some of the things. I would rather have someone who went through this school then the school of "Oh I can light it up real quick". :)

T.Rex Arms, I have been a little to harsh in my critiques of you. For that I am sorry, please forgive me. The production value of your videos is fantastic, and for that you have my admiration. Also, I appreciate your dedication to training and becoming a proficient shooter, and a gun enthusiast. The world always needs more peeps like you and me. Keep doing what you are doing because you do it WELL. Lastly, a piece of advice, when someone asks something like, "why do you have all that kit?", your simple answer need only be: "Because I think its really cool". No other reason or justification beyond that is needed. Keep Your Powder Dry.
@TREXARMS7 жыл бұрын
+The Walking Dad thanks man. But that isn't why I wear kit. I actually rarely wear kit and it sucks to shoot in. I'd rather just run a belt and go fast then wear a plate carrier and helmet. But because of the equipment I design and people I work with, I have to be knowledgeable about the gear they use. And that requires using that gear from time to time. In the majority of my videos here on KZbin you'll see I'm just wearing a belt. There's a reason for that. Haha

Really enjoyed seeing you drill shooting ambi at 0:30 This is something I've been working on but I'm running into a small issue. I am right hand right eye dominant, and I shoot right handed with both eyes open when using my red dot. When I transition to shooting left handed, I transition faster and get the dot on target faster if I close my right (dominant) eye. If I transition to left handed and try get the dot on target while keeping both eyes open, I invariably lose the dot. Would you suggest continuing to drill shooting left handed with my right eye closed, trying to shoot both eyes open on both sides , or possibly something else? Also do you ever practice left handed reloads? Right now if I lock back when shooting left handed I transition right, reload, then continue.

I was wondering if you could do a review with the GEMTECH Suppressed Bolt Carrier and the Radian Raptor-SD Silencer Option Charging handle both. Do a couple of rounds of shooting with out them, then a couple of rounds with just one of them, and finally a round utilizing both together, #1 to illustrate the issue with blow back gasses, #2 how those products work to eliminate the blow back, and #3 how effective or ineffective they are when working together to eliminate the problem. Also would you recommend an adjustable gas block with the GEMTECH Suppressed Bolt Carrier Group or will a standard gas block suffice? I'm building a Daniel Defense MK-18 MOD 1 for suppressed use and am wanting to see what works well by it's self or in conjunction with other components that will keep both the weapon and shooter operating synergistically without to much of a sacrifice in performance in either, and if these things work that well together, is there a cheaper way to achieve the same result or are you going to wind up breaking the bank to achieve the desired result? You have been very honest, and very knowledgeable with your content, I believe this topic will both illustrate the operational effectiveness of these items, give you a chance to give them a grade, and cover the wide range of possibilities the AR Platform offers with and without the products. Oh and hey I've hit the Like and Subscribe Brother so I hope to hear back from you soon, keep the content coming, your feet wet and powder dry. Drew

Training starts with a strong foundation of individual skills, you don't dive into live combat team attacks your first week, starts at individual competency. Mr. Botkin certainly has that, and with the drive he has put to mastering those I doubt he'd be anything but an excellent soldier.
