I got a license in 94, got my dads old cortina Kept breaking. He would fix. Then he got me a haynes manual.. they are great, show you the proper step by step way, ( although you do figure out ways to do things quicker over time) , i spent years using them, I've still got few old ones. Another good vid. Cheers

That's wicked to hear! When I bought my mk2 I was 2 years into my mechanic apprenticeship and the Haynes manual helped me to learn about older cars a lot more!

Hi Dru, I've just done 350 miles this weekend since changing these gaskets and no leaks so far 😁 It's always best to change a few more wearing parts when your going that deep into ripping a grearbox out!

Hi Mitch, great video, when you are changing the wheel bearings, change both sides, they usually have the same mileage on them, so it’s better to change them together. Can’t wait to see the engine bay getting ocd’d. lol 😂👍👍👍🇬🇧

Think ill do just that, thank you Mikey! I'm itching to get in that engine bay 😆

I would say that clear plastic washer is for the sump plug but no one quote me on that
@Mk2Mitch3 жыл бұрын
My dad said this too, however I personally would never use a plastic washer as I can't see how it would not crack under the tension. I'd only ever use a copper one.

I had a winding noise at speed. It was a wheel bearing. Gearbox oil, you get your car level and fill up until the oil starts to pour out the filler hole. Where you put the oil in.
@Mk2Mitch3 жыл бұрын
Hi John, I've already filled the box up but off camera. As I said in the video I didn't drain any and just filled it up till it poured out and it took nearly 1.5 litres 🤦🏻

I lowered my focus with a good set of coilovers all round right down to 4 inch off the ground boy does that catch on avery thing but looks good.
