Yes cracking bit of kit, the guy who owns it has raised the cab around 4" to allow spaces for the Jake Brake. I've got massive respect to anyone who has that much commitment to sound.👌

People who slag off Foden prob couldn't drive them. They were expensive obviously as you could have them built to your own spec and relitavly low volume. Always be better than off the peg mass produced scaina bum boys

Is it me, or is Foden the only European manufacturer that puts Jake Brake on its trucks?

Hi Jake Brakes where fitted to American Engines at this era so British built Foden ERF Atkinson and others would have the option to have one fitted. Tbf there's only certain county's in the UK that would require a retarder of sorts and additional Brakes aren't really considered essential in the UK. Nowadays however jakes are fitted to many European vehicles it's just there unnoticed as they are as quiet as the Engines themselves. Jakes are only loud if the exhaust has been modified, OE Exhausts make Jakes quieter than the Engine it's self in most applications.
