MK4 Golf GTI Hybrid KO4 Turbo Install! (All the BOOST!)

Today we installed a hybrid KO4 on my MK4 GTI. Super easy to install and anyone can do it even with the simplest tool set! Hope you enjoy the Video!

Hows the turbo holding up? I have a k04-022 and manifold from audi tt but dont really want to change my exhaust setup, oil/coolant lines, im on a k03s billet wheel running low boost 17-18psi its alright but the price for these k04-001make it tempting to try out

its alot easier to just remove your passenger side axle and put the turbo in from under the car by the way.

Hey man, were you able to get the bottom turbo bracket to mount with this turbo? I’ve been trying to install it for hours but to get it to line up with the manifold I have to loosen everything and then it doesn’t line up with the coolant return, bottom mount bracket etc. I’m at my whits end with this thing, any advice would be appreciated.

Why install a high flow stock turbo if you’re gonna put on a restrictive inlet pipe?

My concern has to be rods. I havent followed the build yet but torque spike on these small turbos are aggressive. Full boost like 2800-3k rpm. Spaghetti/window territory on factory rods

My recommendation are custom tuning and tell them to keep the torque curve low

@jacobMMotorsport a dyno tune yea that's an option, but it's still a small turbo that spools up very fast. Also, do your own research but from my understanding you don't want to run a bov with a maf because it's metered air. So releasing it to atmosphere can throw off the afr. So if you don't plan on eliminating the maf you may be safer running a diverter valve since it recircs the air that's been read and accounted for. Just my 2 cents that no one asked for, enjoy the car and setup though man, best wishes.

install a manual boost controller in parallel with the n75 valve to cap the boost spike and keep the hold boost and the rods will be fine. it you run full slicks in the front and have boost spike then you might bend the rods.
