MK7.5 Golf R : Bleeding and Flushing Brake Fluid (Fluid Replacement)

This is the final video in this three part series. This is the last thing we need to do before going on a test drive and bedding the brakes, which I covered in part one.

Always remove as much old fluid as possible from the master cylinder reservoir before adding clean fluid. Makes the flush much faster.

Oh boy, my experience with that motive bleeder has been hell. First it was leaking at the gauge. Had to figure out how to create a tight seal since tightening it more did nothing and it nearly sheered the back nut. Then once I fixed that leak, it held consistent pressure. Once I put the fluid in and pumped it up to 30 psi, not 2 min into checking if all is good, it busts the line off the cap and it's spraying brake fluid all over everything. Had to get some hose clamps and wash the car on jack stands immediately to hopefully mitigate any damage to my paint.. Finally got it done. But it was a multi parts store and large cleanup endeavor.

lmao damn man that sucks. Next time don't put fluid in just pressurize with air and add fluid when the level starts to get low in the MC. Much less messy.

15psi is the max recommended pressure for bleeding the brakes with the motive. After doing a corner pump it back up to 15.

⁠@@xDoyle514 the VW service manual specifically says to use 29 psi and the motive manual says not to go over 20 psi “unless specified by your service manual.” So for this car 29 is the right number and consistent with both VW requires and Motive allows.

There are 2 VCDS BASIC SETTINGS in regard to this procedure. 1. Brake bleed 2. Fill/bleed brake system Are those irrelevant ?

Since this works through a pressurized system, is it necessary to keep the car level? I was considering just removing one wheel at a time and using one jack stand.

Have you thought about doing the brembo macan caliper upgrade. I know it's not a true BBK, but you can get 2 piece Rotors and the macan calipers are inexpensive

Great video Sir! But 30 psi sounds a bit high? I note your instruction manual says 2 bar, but worry this might cause master cylinder to blow?? I always thought you should not exceed 15 - 20 psi??? Any more thoughts on this?

Not higher than 10 psi

@@raymondphan3806 2bar for bleeding < see abs pump. its in the manual. it does not require vcds or obd-11 actuation but needs to see 29-30 psi to ensure all air is out from the ABS pump.

Can anyone please confirm to use 10 PSI or 30 PSI. I am doing a bleed tomorrow and replaced pads and rotors. Not lines. Is 30 PSI still necessary? Thanks!

I may be a little biased since this is my video but I recommend 30 psi for the reason I stated in the video. Not sure where you heard to do 10, but 30 worked for me without issue.

It is not necessary for all 4 wheels to be off the ground for this, you can do 1 wheel at a time. But you do want the car level to be sure you don't have too much or too little brake fluid in the reservoir.
