A good how to video, thanks! I can't say I agree with filling by pouring the diesel into the centre because that defeats the purpose of the filter. I'd take note of the diesel level when I take the old filter out and fill the bowl to that level before putting the new filter in. A thin pipe can be used to add diesel from the side if top up is needed.

That's the idea make sure it's filled up to brim as when you start it there's no reserve pump to fill it like on earlier models mk5 golf you heard it kicking in

You should not pour diesel back to the “hole” of a filter. From the hole is fuel pumped to engine. Pour fuel on the black plastic to filter the fuel first.

I used clean diesel to top off filter housing. And you won't notice a difference between filling the hole vs slots.

That is the point of this video, if you fill the housing completely with fuel, you don't need to use VCDS or OBD11.
