Mk7 GTI ez retrofit virtual cockpit

Recently I installed the Ez-Retrofit virtual cockpit from aliexpress. Install was not bad and you have to be careful. Here is a link on what to do with the motherboard once you have everything disassembled. I didn't get to film it, so I apologize. • Video

Have you found any issues since installing it? I’m waiting for the Tiguan version but I could also go OEM the mirror link option is great.

Nothing major. I'm still waiting for a firmware where the coolant temp should be in Fahrenheit and not Celsius. And the cruise control is on KM/H but I got used to it. Other than that, no big issues at all

@@MarkCalica hopefully no issues come up, they release update? usually non oem especially the cheaper ones don’t provide updates after a few months then you’re basically out of luck.

So when it comes to upgrading their firmware on that unit how exactly do you do that would you have to go through the whole thing of removing the unit and hooking it up to a computer or is it something simple like hooking a USB stick to a port that's available on that new virtual cockpit

hey nice guide. how do you know which of those pins to remove? do the right pins just align to the original motherboard and then just remove the others that don't?

No, those are not needed to be connected. It plugs straight to the factory plug and its own harness

Hi, Had this fitted on my VW golf for about 8 months. Recently had to change the cars battery and since then the mirror link for navigation does not work. It seems the Wecast Wifi router/Dongle does not work. it usually shows a QR code to link the iphone but since the Battery change it disappeared.

Mine works fine. However, when I use automatic parking mode nothing shows up in my screen, even though it's active. Any idea?

Not anymore since the company disappeared. You can still check aliexpress, there are other vendors that sells them with better features and customer service. But I did go OEM, for me it's worth more. It's up to you

hi I installed this on my golf. But I get an error “ acc e lane assist tournée off “. I checked the TA contacts on the motherboard but the error does not disappear. you have on your car the acc and the lane assist? did you have this problem?

I don't have the ACC and other stuff. There are pins at the back that you might have confused contacting. If not, you can contact them. They are quite helpful

Just a quick question I am looking to do some coding using ODB 11. have you ever used the on your digital cockpit or any other coding other?

I use OBD11 and this will not make any changes for this, I don't think. The car still thinks you're still on the analog gauges

I had mine installed and I’m not sure why but mine says navigation no signal and don’t have the map on the cockpit. Any suggestions what could be causing this?

It works via bluetooth. You can actually youtube other users that have done it. I barely used the feature.

No, I have the GTI and they have since fixed that issue with the new firmware. I can either have a GTI, R or nothing on that area

Thank you. As the new noise, it's definitely not the same as stock. i.e; blinkers/hazard sounds like the pong game, if you know what I'm saying. It's pretty loud so I had to put a foam on the speakers to lower it down a bit. They said they are coming up with an update soon. The brightness is definitely adjustable and its great. For the money and ease of installation, it was worth it. What do you mean by "its not pretty"?...

@@MarkCalica in the video we hear the start-up noise, but it looks like it cuts off, as if the frequencies suddenly cut, which is not very pleasant to hear. usually the sounds go up to the maximum volume before going down and then disappear completely with a fade out, here it looks like it cuts clean you know? sorry for my rough english, i'm french Thank you for your prompt response

I'm not sure about the android compatibility. You can message their youtube page ez retrofit. I barely use the mirroring on the dash as I use my OEM 8" radio.

Para empezar eres muy poco curioso y ordenado a la hora de trabajar. La mesa de trabajo llena de herramienta y accesorios que no utilizas. Y lo mas cojonudo del video que es cuando cambias la parte de atras del analogico y colocas algo que no se ve. O sea, lo mas importante y no lo enseñas en el video. Asi que, fatal.
