MAPerformance is pleased to announce the public release of Stage 2 Calibrations for the Volkswagen Mk7 GTI. As with all MAPerformance OTS Calibrations, the Mk7 GTI Stage 2 cals have been rigorously developed & refined both on the street and on the chassis dyno ensuring optimized performance, consistency & safety, with improved drivability over stock.
MAPerformance OTS calibrations are available for 91 octane (95RON) and 93octane (98RON) fuels, and currently Stage 1 and Stage 2 hardware options for the Mk7 GTI. All calibrations offer a considerable increase in power and torque throughout the entire RPM range, and tremendous efforts have been put into refining drivability and consistent torque-to-pedal mapping-ensuring predictable torque response in all driving scenarios!
With the MAPerformance Stage 2 Package - including the MAPerformance Air Intake System and free-flowing Downpipe the engine is able to breathe much easier, employing much more efficient horsepower and torque. With the Stage 2 calibrations, one can experience gains of up to 90whp and 100wtq!
Please Note: Maperformance MK7 Downpipe's no longer encompass's the rear engine bracket to improve ease of installation and due to bracket location differing on some models of MK7'S.

Those times are fine, man. I ran virtually identical times (13.653@105.85/2.316 60ft) in a 17 PP DSG on stock pirellis with just a jb4 running a little bit of corn in the tank. Drag racing is tough, fwd is tough, and turbo fwd is seriously tricky to get right. Just ordered your dp minutes ago and can't wait to pick up a mph or two. Thanks for all you guys do. Keep at it at the strip and those times will drop for sure.

... APR stage 1 runs 13.4sec I’ve seen with everything stock but a tune .. but overall it’s not bad because you get Cobb and MAperformance off the stage tune . And I’m surprised you didn’t do a DSG tune either because a DSG tune should be mandatory.

This may be a dumb question. But, are you able to run a Cobb stage 2 with the stock downpipe? I have a 3” cat back straight pipe and a ram air intake. Apparently it’s recommended that you get a high flow down pipe with a Cobb stage 2. Why is this necessary? I don’t want to go complete straight pipe. That’s too loud and It sounds great as is. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

You should be just fine! Cobb stage 3 is when you would need a downpipe.

stg 2 from cobb actually calls for a bigger intercooler, not the downpipe. I run stg 2 Cobb on my pp mk7 dsg, runs fine but I can tell that a DP would really help w/ that extra turbo pressure. Remember that the stock DP is very restrictive specyally w/ a high count cat right next to the turbo outlet. Yes it will be louder w/ a dp, but get the MAP catted and resonated DP. I did, and I have Cobb cat-back. It's not super loud but for a daily, it may get annoying. (your right foot may get 20 lbs heavier too).

Mk7 Gti ‘s do have a limited slip differential. Just not an electronically biased one. Electronically biased diif can put you through the corner easier without having wheel spin.

marcus davila only performance pack equipped models come with the E-diff. Non performance pack models use the brakes to simulate.

What if you only have 91 octane and not 93? How will this affect the tuning?

We offer up tunes for both fuels, the 91 is only a few hp less than the 93! Both great tunes and both graphs will look similar.

I have got my GTI MK7 stage 1 tuned (racing line) my problem is I have lost even stock pops and bangs, I was told this is due to the software update and most importantly I feel I have even lost stcok power specially in sports gear which makes me sick about my car now, just regret the tune, I will be going for a checkup in week, just wondering if anyone else faced such issue or the possible reason behind.

I'm kind of confused, I went to the website and it says the tune is included "in the box". How does it actually get into the car's ECU? Is an Accessport required no matter what?

Our tune is emailed to you when you purchase the Accessport. It isn't literally in the box - and yes the Accessport is required to load the tune onto your car. If you already have one then you can buy the tune separately.

As for Cobb support we don't have an ETA. You should be able to run our downpipe but without the ability to tune it not sure it is really worth it... Ok I'm confused.....how is it that this car which has a bhp rating of 210 and 258tq dyno stock at 228whp with no tune...? Did vw give it a lower rating on purpose or did I miss something?

from what I've seen, the rated bhp of GTi's are actually the whp output of the car... Maybe MAP just has a higher reading dyno since dynos have slight differences

kitzybombflak yeah that makes more sense. I just bought one and it's like driving a go cart....so much torque it's crazy. I've owned 2016 sti's 15 wrx....and this thing is more fun to drive then both of those.

The Accessport supports 2018 USDM now but we do not have any tunes for 18s yet. When that time comes - yes you get both tunes when purchasing an Accessport from us! However, our Stage 1 tunes are intended for stock vehicles only. Your number goals could be reached with a stock downpipe.

Mine seems to get them too. Then immediately after my epc light kicks on triggering an engine misfire. Turning the ignition off then back on fixes it.

I was wondering if the downpipe will fit on my exhaust I have. I bought my GTI and it had a Autotech catback exhaust already installed. It says it 2.5 in after the y pipe. So I’m not sure if it will fit or not? Thank you!

Max Safanov on stock tires my 0-60 is about identical with or without the jb4. The car's a little heavy and the stock tires are not up to the task of hard launches. For reference I still picked up nearly 7mph and over half a second in the quarter mile so the tune is still money well spent.

973 Jones y anything else doe? Pro tunes, e-tunes, gauges, flash in your driveway/garage, clears codes, and now they offer dsg tuning. Their OTS tunes are conservative but they cover everything from stage 1 to stage 3 in one unit without paying more. Everyone else offers one tune that can’t be tweaked for the same price.
