MK7 VW Jetta GLI MBRP 3" Catback exhaust | Cold Start, Revs & Drive Bys

Another video of @BAGGEDPEARL_GLI 's 2019 VW Jetta GLI. We installed MBRP's catback exhaust mated with a CTS Turbo catted downpipe. We modified the catback and added an additional Vibrant resonator to help with drone and quite it down a bit. His car also has a JB4 tune which may change the sound slightly. Maybe I missed it in the video but did you try out the catback system before adding the inline resonator? The hemholtz resonator that comes with that system is supposed to get rid of any drone that the 3” piping would produce. If anything the Vibrant resonator might be adding a little more raspiness to the tail of the revs since the stock one is taking care of the low end drone frequencies already. Don’t get me wrong, I think it sounds great! The car looks awesome too, love the stance.

Sounds great! Curious if you noticed any quality issues? Also, I watched that same Euro family video and I believe his GLI had a catless DP. It was really loud, so he added the resonator to tame it down. So, even with your catted DP it was still too loud and drony? Figured the helmholtz tech they used would help eliminate that drone. Thinking of getting this same exhaust, but it’s somewhat of a bummer that I would need to buy additional parts to make it sound right. And I worry about some of the quality issues I’ve read about. I welcome your input. That GLI is looking great though!

It's actually my buddies car, it is pretty loud(it's basically a straight pipe system)and even with the additional resonator he said there is some drone. As far as quality seems pretty good the whole thing with clamps not holding is because they are very hard to tighten by hand. We ended up using an impact gun because of that and everything sealed nice and tight with no exhaust leaks

He said there's a decent amount of drone. With a catless dp will for sure have more drone than his setup. Will need some mufflers to help with that.

Have you replaced the rear brake pads on this ? I got a 2021 jetta & I can’t get the rear brake caliper piston to compress to fit over the new pads . I have the proper tool & opened the bleeder valve still won’t compress

I need to get my GLI tuned. For some reason my car is super slow. I timed it and it takes 5.78 seconds for it to go from 40mph to 60 mph in 4th gear. Idk why my car is abnormally slow.

That's too high of a gear at 40mph. Put it in 3rd, hell even 2nd and it'll be quicker

If it’s a manual i highly recommend a clutch stop from ECS Tuning. ~$25 and makes the crappy stock clutch much more bearable

@@nathankilsdonk4020 I naturally never really push the clutch to the floor (no need). When I then was hitting the "hard stop" from the clutch stop I actually started grinding gears occasionally from a quick maneuver or something like that. Pulled it out, back to no issues again.
