MK8 GTI Muffler Delete Exhaust Sound! | Stock Downpipe

This is hands down the BEST daily driver exhaust mod you can do. Great volume, tone, minimal drone, inexpensive, and you retain the nice stock tips. If I could do it over again, I would've done this instead of getting the ECS Exhaust.

I know alot of people aren't a fan of it but I'm a fan of the stock sound from the GTI. It still has a bit of noise but makes it a total sleeper especially if its tuned.

Stock it sounds decent from outside the car with no background noise but from inside or from another car you don’t hear anything

just got a muffler delete on my mk8 the other day, and put some heat treated cobb tips on also. looks and sounds great for anyone wanting to do one!

Did you remove the stock tips? But kept the stock pipes in the car obviously without the muffler. And is it the rear muffler or the center one?

I’m not sure what they changed but a muffler delete on the MK8 sounds wayyyy better than a muffler delete on the MK7s

The exhaust manifold is integrated into the cylinder head now, turbo bolts straight to the cylinder head.

Same set up I got but I’m about to delete the stock resonator too and put and 18” vibrant resonator

@@hellgamerclan finally got around to deleting the stock resonator and installed the vibrant 18” resonator with the muffler delete defiantly louder in the cabin with windows up the vibrant resonator makes the car sound deeper and get rid of more rasp than the stock resonator but does make the car a bit louder to be honest tho I thought it would be louder from out side definitively sounds good and quiets down when cruising

I just bought this car not knowing it had a muffler delete. Thinking about returning it, don’t like having loud cars. How pricey would it be to replace the muffler?

Not sure. If I were you, I’d just leave it. It’s definitely not overbearingly loud.

I believe he welded pipe in place of the mufflers.
