I had the previous Moto G and I must say I missed it and now with this review I definitely wish I could purchase one. However I'm loving my Asus ZenFone 2 and my next device will be somewhat high end with front facing speakers. I'll definitely recommend this device to others.
@StefanHolder9 жыл бұрын
While this is a cool phone for the price, I disagree. The Alcatel Idol 3 blows this out the water by a long shot.
@PRINCE_SWAGG9 жыл бұрын
In what way exactly? I know not in software, I know not in performance and I know not in battery life.
@StefanHolder9 жыл бұрын
Better SoC, better camera (front and rear), better screen. The performance is right up there too as its running a nearly total stock build of lollipop.
@PRINCE_SWAGG9 жыл бұрын
I still get the feeling it will perform better than the Alcatel, Moto definitely did some magic with the 2014 Moto G and I'm sure it continued for the 2015. I haven't experience the Idol though so I'm really just assuming from overall reviews and feedback. You certain about the camera? The Moto G got a serious improvement, it's the Nexus 6 camera sensor. I'm terms if software and updates I know for a fact Moto is better. Has the idol received 5.1 yet?
@StefanHolder9 жыл бұрын
Oh, dual front facing speakers with JBL audio. The Moto G camera, while its the same sensor from nexus 6, they stripped out the tech from it. Its capable yes.. But the idol is better. I'll concede the software updates though.

I got my moto G back in 2018 and used it for about a year. It's by far the most ergonomic phone I've ever had the pleasure of using, and the back camera's pictures always suprise me with how good they are when I look back at them, even in comparison to my S21 FE. You would need really good lighting, but the shots it produced still look great on a high resolution screen today. I think that it's a real shame that phones have moved away from this form factor. A Moto G type phone with an efficient, near flagship chip to make a smaller battery viable would be a lot of fun, and it could possibly even still keep the 720p panel if it was and amoled display, as the small screen size still makes that res feel sharp.

If you want a review of a cinema camera, wait for Phillip Bloom to make one, or anyone else who actually will know how to take full advantage of it, i have to admit, as much as i like MKBHDs videos, a Red Epic is absurd for what he does, specially because he mostly shoots on a controlled environment.

I didn't even see that you put up this video until now. I was looking at the Moto G and wanted to see some reviews and you popped up. I love your videos, but didn't see this one. Oh well. I've decided that this is definitely the phone for me. Right now I have an LG Ultimate 2 and it was great at first because I had never owned a smartphone before, but now it's not that great and I need an upgrade that's not going to break my budget. Anyways, great video as always.

Thank you, as always, ***** for the great reviews. But I have a better question. DAT PRIME shirt, friend...where did you get that swag? Keep up the great work, dude!!!!

I just bought this phone. I am happy already. I don't get dropped calls like my s4 did. I think my s4 had outdated software and was struggling to keep up. Glad I upgraded. Good phone for the price.

+Swarthy Daisy Samsung's phones are the opposite of Motorola. Moto's have great radios; most people known to me, with a Samsung devices sounds as if they were talking from inside of a tunnel.

A bit of a shocker to have lost the dual front facing speakers, but impressive all around phone for those who don't want to spend a lot. Props to Motorola for this. And you didn't even mention the Moto Maker possibility (or I missed it!)

I've been using it and I love this phone, some people complained here about App Crashes but there are no App Crashing issues for me. Big screen, latest software, water resistant, great camera, good battery usually we have to pay 30, 40k for devices with those specs but I bought Moto G3 in just 9k!!!

Thanks for this, really short and simple review but containing all the info needed for someone who wonders what to do when they've just broken last years Moto X :D I guess it's time for Moto G, looks good, I never really use much of the X's features, and well, the battery life is important to me. Thanks again!

I like most of the changes, including the 16 GB, 2 GB RAM option for $40 more ($60 if you fully Moto make it with engraving), however the biggest deal breaker with me is dropping the front-facing stereo speakers featured on the MG2 to just one on the MG3 (the upper speaker is strictly for phone on 3, whereas the upper speaker on 2 switches to receiver when in phone mode)... Now, the stereo speakers weren't all that great to begin with, but stereo sound on ANY budget unit is a rarity in itself, especially when you don't have your headphones on you! A few days ago, I went to a Best Buy to compare the 3's sound to my MG2... Big difference! I think I'll wait a few months until I can afford a better handset, such as the new Moto X Pure...

Your review of the Moto G was great. I am currently evaluating my true needs for a phone and I am using a Huawei Y330 unlocked on AT&T that I purchased in South American. And I have observed that for what I am doing with my Samsung S4 reading email; Tweeter and texting ; the Huawei is great. The Y330 is 3G and 512 MB of RAM. But the Moto G has gotten may attention but it has to be unlocked.

Still using my Moto G (1st Gen). It's still pretty good. Absolutely no regrets in buying it. It was my first ever smartphone too. If you're a very and i mean very light user, you should consider the Moto E 2015 too. It's basically what Moto G was 2 years ago but with 4G. Moto's 3rd Generation phone for the Moto E and G are so much better. 2nd Gen was underwhelming.

4:34 eh that active display feature will hurts battery life, so if this feature turn off, it gets 6 7 or 8 hours, however if this feature turn on, it down to 5 or 4 hours

Definitely a smartphone I would purchase as a backup phone alongside my iPhone 5 (in need of upgrade - hopefully new iPhone) and Moto X Pure Edition 2015 (soon to be owner).

Hey Marques, great video.... Why don't you a video on IPX certifications and what do they mean exactly? Another suggestion, please do a review of the ZTE AXON..... Highly anticipated phone...

MKBDH really appreciate your work man, so how about a review on the Asus Zenfone2 as I see it as one of the Moto G's fiercest competitors. I trust your opinion, that's why I'd luv to see your take on it, maybe even a comparison between the two...yes?

Better standby time than iphone (4)? I've never been an iPhone user, and certainly not a fan, but the business one I have goes through the night without losing a percent. Never had that with anything else.
