The reason they didn’t implement a 5x optical zoom is because that amount requires dedicated periscope lenses technology. Its coming with the iPhone 15 pro ultra next year according to rumors. @@vitalpandya7908 it means that it's a little bit easier to open up, but iPhones are notoriously anti right to repair. A perfect example is what they did to the camera module where they soldered a chip onto the camera module which makes it so that if you try to swap to identical camera modules on two identical iPhones, you'll end up experiencing glitchy behavior. You could technically desolder the chip off of the old camera module and solder it onto the new camera module to replace your broken one, but it's so difficult to do so that it's unviable for a repair shop to do that and charge a reasonable price. Apple likes to pose as if they are for people's rights or repair while they actually do everything they can to stop it so that you go and buy a new device since that is their main source of revenue.

Cinematic mode was already 30 fps, and only 30. That was the problem. To appeal to anyone wanting a cinematic look, it should’ve been 24, which the iPhone was already capable of. They added 24 this year. Having both options in the way to go though. 24 and 30 have their use cases and fancy stuff like Cinematic Mode should be available to both :)

@Connected Brainstorm Yes and he's wrong too. 24fps is cinematic and meant for when you want to immerse the audience in a world and suspend their disbelief. 30fps is obviously better for this type of tech KZbin content even though 24fps could work just as well. 60fps and above is good for watching sports and gaming. It's also great for viewing vertical video, especially mixed with HDR. It's almost like the age old expression of "the right tool for the right job". The same is true for framerates, use the right one for the right job, and even then it's not set in stone. 30fps is not the right answer for everything and MKBHD should learn to accept this fact.

I'm currently on an iPhone XS. This is my third one due to the back glass shattering, then the entire screen digitizer freaking out. I've had this phone for about 8 months. Before the second one failed, my USB-C to lightning cable broke so I was using a regular cable for the first 6 months of this iPhone. Two weeks into this phone I was at 92% maximum capacity. It slowed down and after 6 months I finally got another cable. By this point it was at 88%. I've had my new cable for two months ish and I'm still at 88%. That's like really backwards. Usually fast charging destroys phone batteries. Not the opposite. Anyway, since then my back camera glass AND main lens have shattered. Now that the new iPhone 14 Pro is out at the same price paid for this phone series in 2018, I'm REALLY tempted... No, I'm not tempted. I actually want it. Probably cause I'm tired of no back camera and 3-4 hours of battery life with on and off use. So yeah, I feel you as another iPhone XS user.
