Ventura pier is closed. At Hueneme you can catch mackerel and smelt fish

I tried on Monday but maybe because I went at 1pm, I didn’t catch anything. I saw the locals were jigging their rods up and down, so I copied them but still no luck.

@@ericktucker9035 this is actually Surfer’s Knoll in Ventura. Pretty popular touristy spot.

@@ericktucker9035oh yeah! Plenty of parking. You can park along the beach, inside the shopping center across the street, or park right inside the dedicated parking lot for Surfer’s Knoll.

There’s no size limit on these barred surf perch, and they tasted really good. It was like eating chips.
