I usually cut a piece off an Allen wrench and insert it into the fastener and then use a flat wrench or flat ratchet wrench on the protruding part of the Allen key.

You could use u-jointed swing axles like the ancient beetles but the Miata CV joint solution will be fantastic!

good job. the hardest part is getting started! after that its easy to keep up the momentum! hopefully you can take a few minutes and explain the front suspension (knuckles and steering rack). it would help me on my build!
