MetaKnight has always been a character with high Meta potential but not many people play him. Between the recovery options, speed, burst options, Ladder combos and frame data on even things like his F-smash, He's got the parts to make a top tier. Leo showed us how good Byleth could be. Maybe he saw something in the MKs on the JP scene we didn't.

He has the Sheik problem, where it's so easy to win interactions, but he has to win SO many interactions to come out ahead because of his terrible damage output. Plus, just like Sheik he can't kill early except with some cheesy bullshit that the opponent can mostly play around if they know it's coming. There are a lot of other top tiers that have damage and kill power ON TOP of like 3 or even 4 out of the 5 things you listed that MK has. That said, I do think he is a meta call. He seems okay against Sonic, and he's one of the rare characters that dumpsters Min Min (who is fortunately not meta, but maybe unfortunately for MK's major/supermajor top 16 matchup spread).
