Mkv Jetta 2.5 resonator/muffler delete!

Finally pulled the trigger and decided to do something little to the daily and give her a little more sound and I think it sounds pretty good!

LEGIT did the same muffler delete on my Mk5 Jetta 2.5 and threw Raceland coils on it all in the same afternoon! Longest ship day ever so far but well worth it, the VR6ish sound is toooo dope, not obnoxious just a perfect tone 🤙🏾😄

I did the resonator and rear suitcase delete on my 2.5 Rabbit. Left the mid muffler. Sounded awesome. I have the same spec Jetta now, and I’m about to do it again

You should’ve cut the muffler and mid resonator and add a p flow intake it really brings the the sound to a true sport sound

Should have gone from back to front instead. The suitcases in the back reduces the volume, allows expansion and cooling. The resonator lowers the tone and reduces whistling and popping. If you leave the resonator but delete the mufflers you end up with a louder, deep tone. Thats why all the aftermarket catbacks have a big resonator and a single, small, high-flow muffler.

@@IWinYouQuitxdelete the one closest to the exhaust tip, will make it sound deeper, and louder. The best option is to replace that one with a tube that bends over to the hanger on the passenger side then all the way back to the exhaust pipe. Longer tubes equal lower tone, and eliminating the baffled muffler will increase volume. If you remove the other two, you just end up with a annoying rattle ricey sounding exhaust that is still quiet. Keep the resonators, delete the muffler. If you buy a aftermarket catbacks, that's how they are designed. Check out some pics of some of em and you will see. This guy did it backwards and it ended up sounding like crap.

Yeah, this guy did it backwards. Start with the big suitcase muffler at the far back. That will make it louder but still a deep tone. The resonator helps eliminate that raspy, ricer sound. If you delete that first, it will still be quiet but a higher pitch. Leave the resonator on and delete the suitcase.

It actually save you gaz.. If you take off your catalic you get better mpg since it make the engine breathe better but you also need a cold air ou short ram air so there's more air coming in and more going out, I've always done that to my cars, I have the same car in the vid and make more then 830 km per full tank

how is that possible, i'm not sure how the underside of a jetta looks but on my rabbit the exhaust pipe comes straight down then about at the rear wheels it turns opposite the gas tank and then straight out from under straight back

Zachary Tyhacz It becasue right where we cut the mufflers was right beside the gas tank and we didnt think about that happening at all we left it cut how it was, didnt get a straight pipe or nothing welded on and from so much heat coming out the the exhaust cause the gas tanks heat shiel to get extremely hot and melted a fat whole in the side of the tank

RyanXTV Where cut it off we just left it as is instead adding a pipe and where it was cut off was directly beside the gas tanks beside the heat shield and from so heat coming out of the exhaust made the heat shield super hot and from so much heat radiating off the shield it melted a hole in the side of the gas tank over time the hole was the size of a base ball drove it like that for almost 2 months before getting it fixed cause cutting off the muffler and res we didnt expect that to happen😂

Milage should be better because the car is running more efficiently with a bit less back pressure. Should be a slight increase in power (not enough to notice) and possible an increase of 1 to 2 mpg (also not enough to notice)
