Thanks man! The car is pretty basic. P800, mani w/PI, trans, and an ethanol flex tune by Jeff Payn. The thing is still full weight with the OEM muffler and everything. I’m excited to see what it does next time out with a little less weight and some axle shafts in it.

@@brandonmcconkey Simply amazing, dude. Who built your trans and how much did it cost - if you don’t mind me asking? I’m getting one of these and to be able to run 9s and retain street ability, is my goal. The R35 was my dream for years but this car is so much more modern in just about every way. It’s sexier and it seems much cheaper to mod - unless I’m missing something…lol

@@TGUNNER777 I had Jack’s build the transmission, and if I remember correctly, it was $2,900 for the service and shipping was like 500-600 or so (I’m in Utah and they are in Colorado). The Supra is a pretty amazing value IMO. I was running easy 10s at high elevation for like $2,500 and drivability wasn’t affected in the slightest. The GTR is an absolute beast, but you are right, it’s aged a bit and everything is a little more expensive.

@@brandonmcconkey - That’s so cheap! I talked to one GT-R owner who paid Shep $30,000 to build his trans! He put down 1,200hp but still, that’s ridiculous compared to the Supra’s trans. Jack’s has one for $5,800 that holds up to 900 ft/lbs of torque. Titan also has a very similar set-up for the same money. One other thing, I love the interior! Looks like you’re in a fighter jet’s cockpit. The JBL stereo is supposed to be good as well. That with a 50/50 weight transfer…..it just seems like SUCH a well rounded car for the money.

All people maybe talking about this Toyota GR SUPRA is a BMW. It doesn't work like a BMW. Even though I'VE never DRIVEN NONE OF the TOYOTA SUPRA'S I know that they all have that beauty of the 1st Toyota supra. It's just better. TOYOTA knows what there doing. THIS TOYOTA GR SUPRA is nothing like a BMW Z4. Is that BMW Z4 doing this !?????? We will see what the ( stalkers say when the all TOYOTA manufacturers Toyota GR SUPRA 3JZ ENGINE HIT this world. It's coming brother. Keep ur CAR. It's just the engine u will have to change. And u will GET THE 3JZ ENGINE CHAPTER THAN ANYONE WHO BUY THE WHOLE 3JZ TOYOTA GR SUPRA WHEN IT COMES . It has ( 7 GEARS 7 TURBO ) that's all I'm telling you. BUT I think the 3JZ ENGINE is in the ( FT1 CONCEMPT EDITION ). I'm just thinking out loud

The CAR dud it . Created it's own legendary name. Still doing so. Now like I said. The GR SUPRA is making its way to the TOP FAST AND FURIOUS STYLE . YEAP. Keep ur CAR. Just like the TOYOTA SUPRA MK4 is becoming the ( MOST WANTED CAR ) !!!!!!,this mk5 is going to be exactly the same brother. What u need is THERE in the pipeline . The ( 3JZ ENGINE ). BMW ENGINE's can't LAST with ( pressure ) . It starts to ( responding ) . Then cracks and leaks ( OIL ). Why did TOYOTA take the B58 engine APART ( screw by scew and rebuild ) it more or less ??????. Because they have to put the GR SUPRA GT4 in the GT CHAMPIONSHIPs as quickly as possible. Brother LOOK up some videos of the GR SUPRA GT4 and listen to the ( DRIVERS ) VIEWS on this GR SUPRA GT4 ( specs ). This is what I call that CAR 🌞👍✌( monster CAR hunter killer )

Agreed, stock for stock, supra is actually faster than its sister car the z4 believe it or not. Toyota went with pretty much the only manufacturer who makes turbo inline 6's cause reconfiguring the good ole 2jz to meet todays emissions standards wasnt worth the effort when they could partner with another company./

The car has gone faster since this video, and has pretty substantial upgrades happening right now, but even where I assume it will be at early this year I think we’d still maybe only be mid-pack in the TX2K class we fit in, so I didn’t get an entry for March. We are planning on a built bottom end this summer and should be able to turn it up a lot after that, so maybe we will aim for FL2K in the fall or the next TX event.
