6:52 Musicology student here: It's really cool that you explained the part about the engine producing a musical interval. However you got it slightly wrong: the perfect 5th is produced by a 6 cylinder. That interval can sound agressive, which is why it is basically the entire identity of Rock music. The 5 and 10 cylinder engines produce a major 3rd, a very harmonious interval which can be percieved as "beautiful" and is why major chords sound like they do. I'm deeply in love with that sound (and specifically the LFA), so I didn't want to nitpick but my nerd brain felt the need to correct it.

Jason, there is missed opportunity here. Everyone remember rally Audis. But, very few remember the best sounding 5-cylinder ever. Ex. Richard Rydell Volvo / TWR 850 R BTCC-racer. 290hp naturally aspirated from 2 liter 5 cylinder engine singing at around 8500rpm.. I think you should try to drive one, it might be unicorn to find though.

The guys had a Carmudgen argument argument about which sounded better and said “you know what, lets just put it to the test”. Love these guys. This has probably revealed for me more the appeal of Five cylinder sound than I’ve had the opportunity to. Without in person experience most audio recordings of fives sound…idk basic. This production really revealed the pleasures of the engines.

@SkyrimCZtutorials2 жыл бұрын
Agree. CGT sounds like a racecar inside.
@ToyotaAristo2 жыл бұрын
Also when it comes to sound the CGT have the disadvantage of having shorter pipes since its mid rear engine hence you cannot tune the sound as much as you can with the lexus. Both are such a nice cars but the CGT is peak 00s.
@allentoyokawa90682 жыл бұрын
Lexus is better in EVERY way
@ToyotaAristo2 жыл бұрын
@@allentoyokawa9068 Yeah literally no. Lap times the CGT is 10 seconds faster than the regular lfa on the ring on much older tyres and manual with no assistants plus the engine is literally the V10 from Lemans attached to a 6 speed.. what more you could ask for? it's with the F1 and F40/50 three of the best drivers car ever made period. Sound and looks are subjective tho.

@ghettoracer Жыл бұрын
Randy is a great driver but you don't need to be at his level to enjoy Carrera GT safely. It is a fantastic car. I got to drive one at Willow Springs big track back in 2005 and after 1 lap I already hit 160 mph on the front straight with out pushing too hard. Cort Wagnor a well known Porsche factory driver pushed it a bit harder and hit 180 mph on the front straight. Pretty amazing if you ask me...
