These mutations are basically the OG OW2 vision for PvE and the character trees they discussed. At least they are recycling them positively i guess. Should be kept!

I think what they’ve realized is that OW is fundamentally a PvP game. It seems like it’s been really hard for them to take these hero concepts that were designed for PvP and make a PvE mode with much lasting appeal. Or, maybe it’s just that they just haven’t had a hook to attract a PvE audience, I dunno. When they announced that the hero mode (or whatever it was called) was canceled, they said they were gonna be rolling out other kinds of PvE experiences as limited-time seasonal modes, which they did do for a while. But the PvP modes that mixed up how the heroes worked (e.g. community crafted, mirrorwatch) were apparently _way_ more popular. Also, the Hero Mastery mode seemed to be pretty well-received, but the co-op Gauntlet mode flopped and was quietly removed. So it seems like they’re leaning into more ways to mix up the PvP experience using some of the stuff they built for PvE, rather than build out more seasonal PvE experiences.

honestly a good way to keep this mode would be to keep it in arcade, they can continue to develop it each season, adding new heroes and different maps like maybe clash and flashpoint and have people teleported back to spawn each capture to choose new augments, if we aren't getting archives missions and we aren't getting PvE, at least let us have this Blizzard XD

They need to have zen be able to apply harmony and discord without interrupting his shooting orbs. Just animate a transcendence arm applying them instead. I find zen feels like he’s fighting against himself

I think moira was the most fun especially bc of the dps potential. I ran the 60% speed and 1.5 second increase on fade bc you can literally go across half the map in a 6 second ability and then had the 15% damage to people hit with the orb, 35% effectiveness on the orbs and triple orbs. You can immediately shred people then just fade back to your team. I didn’t really have a consistent 6 th one bc there were a lot of good ones.

Talent system from WoW in OW and getting rid of the annoying ASF counterswapping problem, this is what it should have been. Rather than being able to see what heroes are being picked, they can just put in mutatations (specializations/talents, whatever you want to call them) that allow every hero to become viable. On Rein and need a counter to a more mobile opposite tank or map? Give the guy jump boots.

This mode is so much fun lol. I've been playing Zen nonstop and he feels amazing. Double healing orb with increase attack speed is so good! Also, you can give ppl increase healing?! That's so insane. I can pocket my support AND my tank. Zen + Kiri and Zen + Mercy is hella scary 😭 (No wonder they didn't add Ana, She would be way too strong with Zen 💀)

I really prefer this to standard Ow2 but it may just be the new flavor of the month. But sometimes the pools can feel really rough like when I was playing Ashe and you get the roughest choices presented to you until the very last match.

@@333Abs Yeah, I think a big part of the fun of this mode is the randomized mutation offerings, so your build options are different every time. But that means that some players will just have more powerful heroes because they were offered better or more synergistic mutations. No way that works in a competitive format.

@@333Abs Not everything has to have a comp side, if they kept this as a secondary gamemode and just added new heroes and talents into it (maybe with some light balance tweaks on the side if necessary) it could be a great alternative to quick play for the people who don’tcare about grinding ranked all the time.
